Watched this when it was released a day or two ago. It was quite dissapointing and these guys didn’t actually do anything.

Don’t worry @8, your wife says @9 is 4 inches not 12, he uses a smaller ruler. Yea, he wishes he had a foot of global warming.
Unlike the name “global warming” doesn’t mean it is always sunny. In some areas it means more rains either water or snow. We had a really cold summer in Finland this year with lots of rain and now when we should be freezing we are getting loads of sleet…
I am really starting to wonder about posters like @13. Dude, if it is cold enough to turn rain into sleet/snow/freezing rain….then you ALREADY ARE AT FREEZING TEMPS. You dont get sleet at temps above freezing as it has to be at freezing or below to freeze the rain into sleet. Your fridge is set at 40F and your freezer is set at between 25 and 32F. And if it is cold enough for sleet to stay frozen when it hits the ground, then your ground is already frozen down to about 4 to 6 inches deep which is normal unless you are in siberia or the artic as then you would have the ground frozen down to 3 to 5 feet or deeper. You really should have asked your science instructor in high school before posting or at least used your friend google.

& yes a consequence of global warming is increased percipitation in areas. I live in the the Midwest and we had record snowfall last yr & they are already forcasting for us to blow that number out again this yr. Not to mention record rainfall this summer too.
its cylical we only started taking detailed measurements in the early 30’s when we could have been at the very beginning of a warming cycle. We dont know if its a warming / cooling cycle or if we are doing any damage. You cant just start taking measurements of .000000000001% of the earths life and say we know whats happening. Secondly we compare atmospheric reading to ground reading all the time and say we can compare and see the difference. And those ICE core samples dont help theyre frozen ground and not a measurement of the atmosphere. We have NO IDEA if we are in a cooling warming cycle or if our output of carbon is really making an impact. NO IDEA AND NO WAY OF COMPARING.
Who cares anyways worst thing that happens: the earth becomes too noxious for us to live we die off and the earth returns to normal.

The way he posted would make any grade school science teacher roll their eyes and sigh. If you cannot post what you mean then you should not complain when you are called on it. And if that offends you or any other poster, then maybe they should start posting what they mean. And as for assuming am American, how can you be sure? I could be Canadian (and yes they have both readings in C and F) or Mexican or from or from any of the Islands in the Carrib or even from Guam, I dont remember or had posted exactly where I am from…now did I? So maybe you and @15 should wait to be sure before posting?

Not quite true. The ice cores do tell us about the atmosphere in the past – they are not (as you state) ‘frozen ground’ but compacted snow/ice etc, and hence represent the composition of the atmosphere from which the snow/sleet formed. This includes the gas content (apparently)and level of pollutants – major volcanic eruptions show up in ash sample found in ice cores.
Is it just me who noticed, they used the LORD OF THE RINGS Music theme in the beginning, I lol’d.
