The Kite Runner DVDSCR XViD-CAMERA

The Kite RunnerAnd the movie releases just keep on rolling and rolling. Surprised to see a DvDScR this time around by the cam-based reputed group aptly named CAMERA. This seems like a really interesting movie, one that has been getting a lot of critical acclaim and has therefore been nominated for 2 Golden Globe Awards in the US and 2 more nominations for the Satellite Awards. Like the tagline for this movie says – There is a way to be good again. So I’m definitely gonna give this movie a watch over the joyous holiday season. Lastly, even though this may not be a big deal to most people here, just thought as a responsible informer I should also state that this release is – [NUKE] The.Kite.Runner.DVDSCR.XViD-CAMERA – bad.ivtc_dupe.frames.

Is there a way to permanently fix the out of sync audio? I’d like to burn this to disc with the fixed audio, but doing CTRL + K in VLC Player only makes it work within the player…

is it ok to download this or that nuke reason makes it unwatchable?

  32. netpoi
    December 21st, 2007 | 10:11

@30….The Bucket list is real. Watch it on vlc it will play…the it is aspect ratio is wrong but you can easily fix that with virtualdub… good luck…

  33. Someone Noone
    December 21st, 2007 | 10:19

@12, 14: bad ivtc means there will be leftover mixed and interlaced frames, and the movie will probably have stutters/jerky scenes here and there.

Search the web on Inverse Telecine, or 2:3 Pulldown, and see what it really means, if you want to.

BTW, Releaselog, it IS a good idea to have the most common nuke reasons explained somewhere on the site. I could write it up if you can’t be bothered to, just leave a message in the irc channel topic if you want me to.

The Kite Runner was my freshman summer reading selection in 2005 at Duke University, so I think it’s been out a little longer than a few months guys. Khaled Hosseini came and spoke as well, and he is a great mind.

@33… I’ll second your suggestion of explaining common nuke questions on this site. I’ve been in the IT industry since year dot, but torrents are quite new to me (<1yr) so if I’m scratching my head at some of the acronyms and abbreviations around here, I’m sure others are too. It would help cut down the number of “is this still watchable/worth it” questions and similar repetitious posts. Of course, its not like the majority would take the time to read it, since they don’t even read the comments to get up to speed on the individual torrents! I would appreciate it, though! :D
    Merry crimbo, peeps.

@36: My comment was a joke/reference to an earlier posting in the comments. If you read all the comments, you might get it…then again you might not.

    @39: Thanks!

I’m pretty sure some of this film is not in English. Are subtitles needed, or are they hardcoded on the video?

  47. srbin
    December 22nd, 2007 | 07:19

judging by the screenshots, they’re hardcoded..

  48. superjunx
    December 24th, 2007 | 08:08

I saw the first 15 mins and the subtitles are hard coded – it was a great book but I don’t see the movie being able to match – it was really narrative driven in the book so we’ll see…
