The Kingdom R5 LINE XviD-ASTEROiDS
Group ASTEROiDS have been dormant for a good while but now they are back with a very popular movie. They have just released The Kingdom in lovely R5 form. The picture quality is excelent, cant complain in this department. the audio on the other hand is not so good. Sounds like CAM audio so this has led to many sites nuking it for CAM audio instead of the advertised LINE audio. However at the time of writing it has been unnuked: Line.pls.stop.nuke. Release comes on 2 CDs. I would definitely suggest you check the samples before you download to make sure the audio will satisfy you. A PROPER or REPACK might be on the way soon as well.
Synopsis: When a terrorist bomb detonates inside a Western housing compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, an international incident is ignited. the Cam/Mic Audio make it very unwatchable, id wait for a better release.
Its been nuked for having cam audio and for not including English subtitles for when they speak in Arab. Other than that its fine.

It doesn`t matter if it`s nuked or not. The audio is almost as hard on the ears as a cam – just without the snoring, caughing and laughter.
It`s crisper and clearer than a cam.
It has a distict and painful hissing sound in it.
This is from seeing/hearing the quality of the sample only.
There are some nice subtitle sites to be found on a list at gromkov.com/faq/faq2004-0057.html Id reckon Opensubtitles.org is pretty much the shizzle these days.
About the movie… some people told me I had to go and see this cause its supposed to be really impressive. Ill give it a try (usenet for teh win!)

Its not fine at all, how can you say that the audio is just crap, maybe you can’t notice it cuz ur on some crappy speakers but its bad……. just bad.
Also If you play this in VLC Player & Set the Audio Channels to the Right & the Equalizer to Classical it will sound much better, but the Audio cant handle the Highs & theres like no bass, cuz its crappy CAM/Mic Audio.

Audio is very very bad. I mean acceptable if you’re not fussy and want to fiddle with EQ, but for a real movie audio experience it’s not worth downloading this.
It’s not exactly “hissy”, it’s more like a staticy distortion throughout, depending on the volume and tone of the sound. It’s like listening through tinny radio speakers.
btw I’m not listening to it thru tinny radio speakers.. lol

I don’t believe this is mic audio.
It’s just like the source had interference, or got distorted along the way. A bad recording/mixdown, but not mic.

The sound is GREAT (for Line) but i had to tweak it from the ac3 decoder filter
that is: go to ac3 decoder filter/ main tab/ and in the presets select invert phase. and there it is.
sadly i don’t know how to do that for DivX players

If you’re using ffdshow codecs (and I bet you are), just check off the noise reduction option and it sounds much more like line audio. Or just wait for the proper to pop up I guess.
About the sound. I’m on Gigaworks 7.1 and the sound is good. Nothing to whine about. I’m judging on the sample. Downloading from the RS links now…

Only 1 CD subs from previous release are circulating. Either you split and sync those yourself or wait for the subs to pop up over at opensubtitles.org
About the nuking going on… the audio def is off for a bit. But if you limit your volume and just went for it, I guess it wouldn’t really bother ya. There’s also no subbing when they speak arabian, which is a pitty. About other PROPER, or LINE releases, haven’t seen any so far, don’t go downloading shih yet
How do you join subs to the R5 avi file?
I watched this a month or so ago and there is an awful lot of arabic speech in the film. It was painful to watch without knowing what was going on for almost 25% of the film. English subs are important here I am afraid. I will wait for some hard subs.

the mVs subfix works for this version too, just tried it, so don’t go and wait for asteroid subfix when you can use mvs’ version
I connected and gotten about 60 mb now it tells me under status: error leeching forbidden you are only allowed to seed. WTF? I am seeding at my max UL speed of 65kb/s and I went from DL at 101 kb/s to only 2 kb/s. What Happened?
