The Killers - Sawdust (2007)

There’s no need to introduce The Killers - this band earned their popularity over the ages and their latest album “Sawdust” is about to hit the shops on Monday. You can enjoy the scene rip full of the finest rock songs right now, thanks to group 404.

Sawdust includes “All The Pretty Faces” (which was the b-side of “When You Were Young”); two movie soundtrack tunes, “Shadowplay” (a Joy Division cover from Control, Anton Corbijn’s biopic of Ian Curtis) and “Move Away” (from Spiderman 3); as well as a cover of Kenny Rogers & The First Edition’s “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town” (written by Mel Tillis). The collection will also contain songs which weren’t completed for Hot Fuss and Sam’s Town. The Killers recently went back into the studio to finish the tracks, including “Tranquilize” featuring Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Lou Reed.

Collection of B-sides and rarities from the Las Vegas indie rock quartet The Killers. A compilation of tracks from soundtracks and single releases, as well as previously unreleased material from the ‘Sam’s Town’ and ‘Hot Fuss’ sessions, this is an album that will please all those Killers completists out there. Includes the Joy Division cover ‘Shadowplay’.

    A very average band. There is nothing new or innovative about their music. It is totally derivative.

    Bananskal- they are definitely a decent band. Their remixes are often better than their studio versions. How Are Y’All & Gadafi got it right with the Killers. They are nothing extraordinary. And sure, your point that they’ve had quick success (and sold some albums - 9 mil) is fine but so have lots of other bands/singers that aren’t overly great. I’ll give they have some solid tunes but their music isn’t way above average. Just decent.

    Lol_Gadaffi:

    All music is derivative. Having said that,theyre an above average band with a pompous prick for a vocalist.

    @17

    I uderstand that ALL music is derivative, but i personally find many, if not all of todays “new” bands totally unoriginal. I suppose they are better than the majority of todays bands. Just not my thing.

    Average? Do you people have ears? If you do, you need to seriously see a doctor as soon as possible. There is no band on earth right now better than the Killers. If you think TK are average, I would hate to know who you actually think are good. Yikes.

    funny how these guys think changing their looks will somehow fool people into believing they’ve ‘reinvent’ themselves or have ‘evolved’. please. this is mainstream rock at its worst.

    Personally I can take or leave The Killers, but I can see their talent. I don’t believe that there is such a thing as an “Average Band” though.

    you can always tell the grumpy old men by their hatred of the current music scene. old men: i’m sure back in your days of 8-tracks there were the same complaints about new bands coming from your dad when he got home from the mill! haha

    the killers are a really good band. they actually did evolve from their 1st to their 2nd album, but if you are determined to hate them, then you probably didn’t even hear both albums anyway, so how would u know. i’d list the differences between albums, but what’s the point?

    thx for the uploads.
