Guys from BestDivX are back on the track with an Australian thriller The Jammed. The movie deals with a fairly interesting and controversary topic: sex and people trafficking. Although it’s obviously a low budget title, Jammed achieved to few prizes for best film and best sound at IF Awards. Released in the usual 1 CD quality.

Inspired by court transcripts and actual events, THE JAMMED is a social thriller about trafficking and the sex slave trade in Melbourne. When a Chinese mother arrives in Melbourne to find her missing daughter, she enlists the help of Ashley Hudson. Ashley reluctantly agrees to help search, and is soon drawn into the dark underworld of this cultured city as she tries to rescue three girls from a trafficking syndicate. As the story unravels the sinister workings of illegal prostitution and governmental deportation is filled with twists and surprises.

    TPB wants Demonoid in Sweden

    It has been nearly two months and the once very popular torrent site Demonoid is still on its extended period of downtime. The infamous torrent site The Pirate Bay however, has recently offered two brand new servers to the Demonoid crew, in Sweden.

    It has been unclear since December whether Demonoid would ever return but tens of thousands of users became hopeful when the founder of the site said he was looking for a new location to host the site. “Money is an issue, but the real problem at the moment is finding a suitable place to host the website. There has been no luck there. And there’s some personal stuff I need to take care of that takes most of my time at the moment, and that does not help,” he added.

    Brokep, one of the admins of TPB recently said in an interview that he hopes Demonoid will make a comeback and has claimed to have two new servers already waiting for them if they choose to. “We tried to contact the guys behind Demonoid and we’ve set up a tracker for them but they haven’t responded. But, we have two servers running for them if they want to set it up.”

    i hate rapidshare links.. specially when its like 20+ parts. that would take a decade. Megaupload at least you can d/l like 700MB b4 waiting, on RS its 1 file(usually 100mb or less) then an hour half wait for next.

    @22 Nope, National Treasure was slated for release today. I thought it would have been floating around when I woke up in the states today, but no luck. It has not popped up on any predb’s I check either.

    I heard an interview with the writer of this film script. She very nearly got killed while researching it.

    She was complaining to a prostitute that she couldn’t find the owners of a club to interview the night before and was told if she had found them and asked about people trafficing, she would have disappeared like many of their girls do.

    Nice movie. Thanks! From the Australian TV review that turned the film from heading straight to DVD into a something of a national hit:

    “But doesn’t it say something about the state of the Australian film industry that a film like this, which is so good, first of all couldn’t get funding from – at least it didn’t get funding from the major funding bodies. I mean Film Victoria put some money in to finish it and then it couldn’t get distribution so they’re having to self-distribute this film which means it will be seen by a limited number of people. It deserves to be seen by everybody.”

    And no, weho (46), this is much better than the vastly overrated Eastern Promises.
