DEViSE have just released a really interesting sounding DVDRip of a fan-made-film for “The Lord of the Rings”, i havent heard anything about this until i saw it pop up but will definitely be checking it out. The Hunt for Gollum is a fan film based on elements of J. R. R. Tolkien’s epic fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings. The film is a sidequel to the events of The Fellowship of the Ring. The Hunt for Gollum had a shooting budget of less than £3,000. Location filming took place in North Wales, Epping Forest and Hampstead Heath. 160 people volunteered as crew members for the production.

The script is adapted from elements of the appendices of The Lord of the Rings. The story follows the Heir of Isildur; the “greatest huntsman and traveller in Middle Earth” as he sets out to find the creature Gollum. The creature must be found to discover the truth about the Ring, and to protect the future Ringbearer. Gollum is creeping around Middle Earth with crucial knowledge of the Ring’s location. He must be found.

    I saw this movie when it was released 6 months or so ago. Its quite good. Sure, no Lord of the rings but with such a limited budget they've done really well.

    High praise to the makers of this fanfilm – amazingly well done. The GBP3000 budget covers not only the filming but also the orchestral score, the props, the costumes, and most of all, the tight script. Well done!

    On a slightly more relevant note – can anyone tell me how you can rip a DVD from something that was never released on DVD?
