The Hoax LIMITED DVD SCREENER XViD-PUKKA

I’m really surprised to see such a nice movie without any attention – The Hoax has 7.4 points out of 10 at IMDB, and that’s a very high rating already. The movie mixes dramatic and comedian elements and stars Richard Gere in the main role. It could easily be a decent blockbuster with some more propagation and advertising. This dvd screener from PUKKA looks very good, the image quality is excellent and MP3 audio is also very clear. A great surprise for me.

“The Hoax,” directed by Lasse Hallström, is inspired by true events in the life of Clifford Irving, the writer who nearly pulled off one of the most audacious media scams in history, when his “autobiography” of Howard Hughes was published. Golden Globe Award-winner Richard Gere stars as Irving, who claimed the book was based on in-person interviews he conducted with the reclusive billionaire, which were in fact completely bogus. Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden, Alfred Molina and Hope Davis also star.

That’s how disrespectful and ignorant some rich/famous Americans are. I mean, this guy did not have a clue that the chick was Indian and her people might take GREAT offense to him
forcing himself on her? That putz causes an international incident, then goes home to the very safety and security he constantly ridicules. As hot as that chick was, just get a room.

The guy has worked for aids awareness for over 10 years and you refuse to watch his movies cause he hugs and kisses a girl? If I remember correctly it was Valentines day! No offence but the only people who got upset were religious fundamentalists and maybe a couple redneck racists.

IT actually happened a few days ago,all gere did was demonstrate to some Indian truck drivers at the HIV awareness event as to how aids diseases does not spread, and thus planted a few wet ones on the Indian womens cheek( all very innocent and she seemed to enjoying herself).. the said women is actually a star of the big brother t.v show…and the whole Issue was made into a large hue and cry only cause a few jobless indians had nothing better to do this week …looseys

It was a cultural faux pas, nothing more. It just demonstrated his ignorance of Indian culture. But I wouldn’t call it “groping”. What he did is usually acceptable behaviour in American society.

As for the movie, its been getting really good reviews. Probably worth a look.

Btw, if you’ve ever watched Hindi movies – they almost never kiss. Only recently are Bollywood movies becoming more and more ‘Americanized’. Though whether or not that’s a good thing is debatable.

This seems to be an Italian R5 or TC with English line sound.

  11. April 19th, 2007 | 22:58

    LOL.
That is a lot of fuss. Ah well, I guess we can go polaroid style. It doesn’t sound too bad to me what he did. Besides, Gere does have a past with buddhists, tibetans and some other religious matters. I doubt this guy is totally clueless.

Anyway thanks for the film, I never heard of it and I’m going to watch it. :P
