Here’s a super new release of American mysterious thriller The Happening, released by group COCAIN. There’s been a very decent R5 rip for a while, but the quality of audio wasn’t that good, so this dvd screener is more than welcome. The movie itself isn’t that good though, it felt very scripted to me. Expect a small “property of” warning in the bottom part of the image, but it’s not very disturbing. Enjoy another great release!

It begins with no clear warning. It seems to come out of nowhere. In a matter of minutes, episodes of strange, chilling deaths that defy reason and boggle the mind in their shocking destructiveness, erupt in major American cities. What is causing this sudden, total breakdown of human behavior? Is it some kind of new terrorist attack, an experiment gone wrong, a diabolical toxic weapon, an out-of-control virus? Is it being transmitted by air, by water . . . how?

    i know this is not the place to give reviews, but i just have to cos i was kinda angry after i watched it: after a great 6th sense and a good unbreakable M. Night Shyamalan’s inspiration obviously has dried up cos it went nothing but downhill since then and this movie is the abyss of his career. aweful.

    I can’t say I’m suprised at the venom this movie is getting here; everybody else who paid to see it already hates it. BUT I DIDN’T. I saw it as Shyamalan’s version of Grind House: purposely gory, simple, and kinda silly, with a VERY heavyhanded environmental message… it’s a fun flick if you go in thinking like that. If you’re looking for total seriousness, you shouldn’t be watching his movies anyway. Now, The Village, that’s one which blew. Anybody with half a brain cell could see the twist coming from the minute it started..

    I actually went to the Cinema to see this movie. Worst £14 I ever spent. It’s funny, I joked at the start that the Orange Advert was probably going to be the best part (they always kick arse) and I was unfortunately right.

    This movie is laughably bad. I watched it with other family members and we were laughing out loud during many points in the film. It is not scary in the least. Preposterously ridiculous turns in plot (if you can call it a plot) and horrible acting. This is the final nail in the coffin for M Night. He will never be the writer, director, producer of another Hollywood big budget film. Utter rubbish. Easily the worst movie I have seen in a long time and I was really disappointed.
    Vitriol? You bet!

    Sync’d the audio from this release with the video from the R5 using VirtualDubMod & it was as good as a DVDrip. No preloading of audio or interleaving required whatsoever.

    Bleedin’ crap movie though.

    This movie need to be watched by someone with a minimal required inteligence to understand and appreciate it.
    If you do not have that minimal inteligence you will not understand and thus will not like it.
    This is the same as anything else in the human behavior.
    The end of this movie is a bit too much coincidentally, but none the less very much of the content of the movie is possible in the real world.
    Please keep in mind that im only referring to the content not the acting.

    I actually quite liked this film, but then I tend to like all of the films by this director. I was hoping that there’d be some kind of twist at the end, like he does with The Sixth Sense and Signs etc, but unfortunately there wasn’t one.

    If you’re into lots of action, blood and guts, then this film isn’t for you. But if you like the creepy, surreal type of films, I’d give this a watch.
