The Good German 2006 LiMiTeD DVDRip XviD-ALLiANCE

The week kicks off with a good movie, previously brought to us in DVDSCR format by group iMBT. Besides having many good actors such as Tobey Maguire and George Clooney, this movie has been nominated for an Oscar. If you like serious movies and follow the Oscar nominees I strongly recommend this after having seen it at the movies.

“Based on the novel by Joseph Kanon, “The Good German” takes place in the ruins of post-WWII Berlin, where U.S. Army war correspondent Jake Geismar (George Clooney) becomes embroiled with Lena Brandt (Cate Blanchett), a former lover whose missing husband is the object of a manhunt by both the American and Russian armies. Intrigue mounts as Jake tries to uncover the secrets Lena may be hiding in her desperation to get herself and her husband out of Berlin. Tully (Tobey Maguire), a soldier in the American army motor pool assigned to drive Jake around Berlin, has black market connections that may be Lena’s way out — or lead them all into even darker territory.”

While in post-war Berlin to cover the Potsdam Conference, an American military journalist is drawn into a murder investigation which involves his former mistress and his driver.

People who are downloading this will be in it for another surprise…..just like every other release from Alliance, the dam file comes out to be weird where you have to use a Splitter to join the file. I have a splitter and once joined, the dam thing do not run with VLC or any other media player. I don’t know why Alliance does this where as others do it in a RAR file and you just have to extract it and wallah, a good file where you can play with VLC media player. But this fool have to make it all complicated for everyone and the poster do not inform the users about it. I say make another section for Alliance rip and dont mix it with others. This was again one waste of a download. I dont even have the file now so no use telling me what to do. If someone can get a hold of Alliance or the person who review movies and release his movies, tell him to make it in RAR format, not something else. Thank you.

Regarding the odd resolution: it’s not a mistake. From the wiki:

“The DVD release even presents the film in the outdated 1.33:1 aspect ratio that was normal for 1940s films, although the theatrical release used a modern widescreen ratio.”
