The Golden Compass DVDRip XviD-BeStDivX
BeStDivX dishes out “The Golden Compass“, winner of the “Best Achievement in Visual Effects” Oscar this year (and nominee for “Best Achievement in Art Direction”). Needless to say, the visual effects here are stunning, and if you’re a fan of yummy CG, you will really appreciate the work put into this film. You can also watch it with your kids, as its a family movie rated PG-13. As for quality, it’s pretty average, unfortunately. Video bitrate is a decent 716k and audio is normal MP3. BeStDivX did not specify a runtime, but according to IMDB it’s 113 minutes. A film this long, filled with CG could have deserved a 2 CD release.
Synopsis: THE GOLDEN COMPASS is an adaptation of the first book in the beloved but controversial fantasy series by Phillip Pullman. The story opens with Lyra Belacqua (Dakota Blue Richards) an orphan girl who lives in an alternate world that is similar to earth, but where people’s souls exist outside of their bodies in animal form. The people are ruled by a shadowy and oppressive council known as the Magisterium, which is doing it’s best to keep everyone from getting information about what is called “Dust.” Lyra’s Uncle Asriel (Daniel Craig) has been researching Dust, and he has seen to it that Lyra is given safe shelter at Jordan College.

This is not a Drama/Thriller… It’s a fairytale for kids. I couldn’t get myself to watch it to the end. So silly movie it was.

Took me three tries to finish this film. Its more for kids - but may for some younger kids be quite scary. I would not let my kids of 7 and 4 watch it at all.
I always thought it a bit unusual that Craig and Kidman did this and The Invasion together last year. It’s not like they have good chemistry together or anything….

Here we go again with the 1 cd release which should have been 2 cd’s. Following in DIAMOND’s footstep’s with there last effort of there will be blood 1 cd release. I did manage to find a 2 cd release of TWBB with outstanding bitrate and 5.1 sound. But this is a lame ar** atempt of a good movie. Looks like bestdivx are also beginning to suc* at releases. Sure i’ll be able to get the 2 cd release anyway.

I Just Downloaded this, and I’ve got to say it is really a good copy for 1 Cd. Most people only have Stereo anyway (48000Hz 135 kb/s tot , Joint Stereo )

This movie is an adaptation of the first book from a trilogy. So, there would be 2 sequels to it lined up.
But there’s no way they’re going to go through with adaption the second and third books now, because this movie bombed.

Sure, this movie “bombed” in the US. However it certainly didn’t “bomb” in other parts of the world, and looking at box office/business at IMDB supports this.

I read the books a few years ago, loved them. If you want the true experience read the book, in one sitting.
But this movie gives them a bad name. Completely changes the story in parts and the ending is just so childish, a happy ending, while the book is dark and thoughtful. And so RUSHED, was way too short of a film, would’ve been better following the tradition of lord of the rings and having longer movies.
I think this film could’ve been great with different casting and the team of Peter Jackson and LOTR.
Read the f*cking books, they’re great. Get off your couch and read these books or listen to them w/e.

Overcropped and bad video quality, why isn’t his nuked yet? All the time movies get nuked for the most stupid reasons, yet a movie that is actually worth nuking isn’t. What gives?
