The future of Prison Break: Season 3

Prison Break still belongs to the most popular tv shows so it’s no wonder that FOX picked up this drama for next season. But what should we expect from this sequel? The recent interview with producers of Prison Break indicated many details: Details on the serialized drama’s storyline for next season are being kept under wraps, but it is understood that brothers Michael (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln (Dominic Purcell)–who recently escaped to Panama with the FBI hot on their trail–and many of their fellow fugitives would end up back behind bars, possibly in Panama. “It essentially will be a new chapter,” creator/executive producer Paul Scheuring said in interview for Reuters. “It’s going to return to the fundamental conceit, to the roots of what the show was about.” So you can probably look forward to the old good Prison Break, in prison and not in the wild (which was criticized by many people).

The options on the Break actors are not due for a pickup until May, but it is understood that a significant number of the regulars this season will return in the fall. The show also will introduce many new characters, Scheuring said. But while stars Miller and Purcell will return next season, don’t consider them safe, Scheuring said, hinting that one of them might not survive beyond the first couple of episodes. Scheuring already has begun scouting locations for season three. Production will be based in Dallas. There will be splinter units working in Florida, which has doubled for Panama this year, and Louisiana, also expected to double for Panama. Good work there, it was quite realistic and I would never say it was filmed in Florida. In its second season, Break has averaged 9.1 million viewers and a 3.7 rating/10 share among adults 18-49. The series ranks number one in its 8 p.m. Monday period in that coveted demographic. Let’s wait for final episodes of Season 2, they should be really surprising!

    Agree with the two previous posters… I don’t think it ever should have made it past season 1, but hey, season 2 wasn’t so bad after all… but trying to squeeze a 3rd one out of it will be no good.

    typical american bullshit. why did the original office work? because ricky gervais and steve merchant weren’t so greedy to dilute a perfect series by going on indefinitely with the story, even though their fans begged for more they made a total of 12 episodes plus christmas specials and that was it – story told and wrapped up – americans on the other hand are only after the $$$ even if this means fucking up a perfectly good storyline. season 1 of prison break was very promising – started to drift towards the end and then season 2 ranking of 3.4 is absolutely justified. add to this the joke that lost has become and it reiterates the absurdity of american serials. instead of two legendary plots that could have been wrapped up in 2 seasons each – the shows have become a joke.

    As long as they make Kellerman the main guy in season 3 I’ll be watching (As I only really watched season 2 for that character, (And Sarah of course :D ) I was going to throw my TV through the window when It looked like they were going to kill him off.

    but as for the story, well, I’ve read that they will be going back to prison again, in panama :( does not sound good at all.

    love the show, but season 2 could have been condensed, theres alot of filler.

    but season 3 might be a bit too far
    they could end this series and wrap it up nicely.

    Yeah.. Its sad that they gonna do a S03. They could have wrapped it up pretty good now. Hopefully this is just a big mislead, and there wont be a S03.. Can allways hope. :-P
    Me & several friends have been watching PB from the first start.. But now, allmost none cares about it anymore. You just get tired of the BS all the time and its the same shit in every episode.
    ‘We got them now! *Break* (The prisoners finds a way out), Damn we lost them!’
    These cliffhangers r in each episode, + the lame cliffhanger like in one of the first eps of S02. The FBI get a knowledge about them being a storage and they surrender it. U see the prisoners inside of the storage, then FBI gonna open it up. *BREAK* And FBI open the door.. *SURPRISE* Wrong storage!! They have several of these cliffhangers in the season.. Very LAME and PATHETIC everytime.

    You can allmost read what will happend in the show, if its very exciting and they cut to commercial, if they cut then it will be the opposite of what u thougth was going to happend before the break(or if its the end of a episode and beginning of the next).
    Someone gonna kill themself? Forget it, they wont do it/someone will find the person and “rescue”.(This also works if someone is gonna kill another guy)
    The FBI got them? Forget it, they will be able to escape using the backdoor or FBI aint even on the same place.

    I’m a huge fan, dling the shows to watch before they hit the UK.

    But i’d have like’d it to end at the end of season two.

    It’s too much suspense. I’m self centered i want to see an end.
    I’ve seen too many Rambo’s Rocky’s, Police Academies, even sex and the cities to know that stretching something out is not good.
    The have seen 24 and how that does well, but they don’t realise that each season of 24 has a ending to it that satisfies fans (for the most part).

    Prison Break is the only serie im watching write now online, and i dont watch tv at all.. i think they had to stop with season 1… it would be a 10+… but with more seasons the PB name gets less… the idea getting in a prison in panama looks nice… same story different place….

    Hi all!

    Wow, I’ve been reading all comments on this topic about PB:3… well, we all know the producer of the PB is only doing this for the money and the fans… But guys common, actually I agree it would be very sad and boring as usually if they are making PB3. Cuz in season 1 Michaels brother Linc were in prison and it was very exciting how Michael was supposed to get him out there then in season 2 how to get him free man walking and the president had to appologize and confess to the introuble she made. BUT if they get captured in last episode 22 and sends back into prison then it would be damn exorbitant TV show and then its meaningless.. About Season3, so they will make a hole new “Braking out from prison” story? New FBI agents, new victims and so on.

    Let me give you guys an example.. when u get really long in vain for something, and at last u cud taste it or have it, but after a while u will get tired of it and u will get bored.
    This is the same situation.. once u waited for PB and u were loving it for a while u will get bored until the end has come.. and now there is no “same taste” anymore, U guys feel me what I am talking about?… so plz no more PB!

    Seriously, this is the exact same reason why I stopped watching Lost, after some chapters of season 2 I said: no more of this sh!t. So, they lost me.

    I was into PB, then with season 2 I was kind of sceptic to see the same thrill as season 1, they didn’t deliver. But I was hopping to see a good end, but taking to a season 3?! men, this gonna be boring, and I will leave again. Same happen to me with Smallville, don’t know what’s of that series now, don’t care either.

    Some series are ment to be continued, no matter the seasons (friends, house md, startrek) some others must have an end (lost,smallville,prison break). You can always make some variations later (ala Dragon ball z,gt,….).

    Let’s hope this series deliver a good end, and stay in our memories as a memorable serie to be seen again in reruns. Otherwise it will be going directly to the trash bin.

    I am happy to see S3 of Prison break but i still think they should’ve ended it with s2. it’s a great show and all but the story isn’t something that can be dragged too long, oh well, let’s see what S3 holds for PB fans :) meanwhile, looking forward to S2′s last ep.

    Prison Break consist of Michael with one look, “suspicious caracter”, and one tone of voice.. Boring as H…

    Only reason I’m watching it now is because I want to see what happens. But now that I hear that S03 will come.. I’m not sure that I do. :(

    PB is a series of episode after episode with nothing else than a goal that seems so near, but something always gets in the way. Thats every episode!

    Please shut it down.. It should have been shut down after S01.

    I found season 1 really complete stretching, but how further they go, how less stretching it becomes. You see ordinary that make them trying thinks longer, and therefore that I they do not have go with a lot of tension to season, differently.

    prison break is the only thing worth watching on t.v right now and is absolutely brilliant… every episode is exiting!! A third season seems promising and i cant complain… i wish it could go on forever… story line is fantastic and with another season- it can only get better.. lets hope for a real..impact of an ending!!!

    alright anyone who thinks prison break season three will suck just has no idea what there talking about if the orgiinal writers and the orgianl well thats left of oriinal cast comes to grasp with the fact that season two kind of lacked and they need to step it up and bring us a awesome season by doing nothing more than having michael snap in prison meet crazy people and lincoln comes to his rescue and they say corny things like “you did the same for me” then we will be all set and everyone on here raggin on pb 3 will do nothing more than watch it faithfully everyweek monday at 8 and then come here and trash it so come one can i get a hoorahhh for pb 3 and u all lick my nads

    The third season is there for a reason. No, it won’t be what you guys think it will be. Scofield and Burrows will end up together in panama prison. Sara returns to Illinois where she’s meeting Jane. In panama prison, Michael and Lincoln are planning a prison break. They have met two inmates who are willing to help them escape, but the two brothers will have to do them a favor first…

    The main characters in the third season are:
    -Michael Scofield
    -Lincoln Burrows
    -LJ Burrows Jr.
    -Theodore Bagwell
    -Sara Tancredi
    -Fernando Sucre

    -Jane Barrow

    with scofield, mahone, belleck and T,bag all trying to escape sona. And who knows we might see some new ppl getting involved.

    I think that it will be beautiful no matter wot everyone says lool i think it will give us a reminder and a worse feeling of prisons on panama.

    Obviously its never too much i just can’t wait for season three and it would of been bullshit happly ever after common at least we can enjoy n b very excited about whats going to happen next we all love it too much lool so no denies there.

    Oh no…. i fear the worse… yes they shouldve wrapped up Season 2 Finale, but omg … no, now Michael is back behind bars, and the whole Prison Break will begin all over again… He’s gotta break out again, but there is also the stuff about Linc not making it too far from Season 3, which means he might dissapear or end up killed by “The Company”. And Sarah went lost. Its a mess for christ sake. They shouldve wrapped up not another Season 3… although I always wanted more Prison Break but I fear the worst. Some changes in the following season will make Prison Break go down most likely… I fear the worst. They better think it all well and throughfully!

    I think that should finished on season 02, just like Lost, cause started to get characters from nowhere and the History is now completely different, the can do something perfect if the season 3 is of only 6 episodes or less and if Lost dont finish on Season 3, I will throw my TV to their offices, they are only worried about money.

    Would be horrible to see an other man playing michaels role.
    Wentworth Miller is just the perfect one for this role, with his mysterious look and pretty face ;)

    What a shame. I have loved PB and saluted that it had a planned ending after 2 series. All good stories havea beginning, middle abd end. I stopped watching Lost because after a while it felt like there was no end, just more and more episodes to keep making money. They seem to be doing the same with PB.

    There are those of you who say “well if you don’t want a season 3, don’t watch it” but that doesn’t change the fact that we avid fans now have an unfinished tale. I was looking forward to the story ending, having a nice feeling, a sense of closure.

    Instead money has got in the way of what could have been a beautifully-told memorable story.

    I feel so let down.

    …and now they say season 3 is cancelled.

    Instead, do us a favour PB, and do one final episode to tie up your great story and give us the good ending we have all been waiting for (and deserve).

    i think that the season 3 is going to be a little something like the Bourn Identity setup becuause on the last episode the General said that they wanted him to escape that prison. If you look at the last part of the episode it says on the building that it was some type “research” facility. That mmakes ou have to think that maybe the government created micheal and he got loose into the world and he is a project or something.

    Overall i think that the 3rd season is going to be excellent. Beats the hell out of 24.

    Prison Break’s a big hit and i can’t wait for the third season’s exciting story to unfold. I just hope negatuve rumors about Sarah not being a part of the show anymore isn’t true. She’s one of the most loved charaters in the series.

    It really pisses my off, the people who spend their time writing comments on here about how they should have stopped after 2. But if they were true fans of the show (which i am) will be overjoyed about a 3rd season.

    The show isn’t for everyone i know that but why do people come on here and say that they wish it had ended at 2. If they don’t like the show piss off and stop waisting everybody’s time.

    I can’t wait for season 3 & I hope that they don’t kill of Scofield or Burrows & that Paul Kellerman is back (if he’s still alive!!!!)

    PRISON BREAK IS ONE OF THE BEST TV SHOWS EVER!!!!!

    I’m really exited about season 3. i don’t think any show really comes even close to compare with Prison Break, thats how much of a fan i am. All the things i have read about the new season sounds great, so i think us fans should give props to the writers because there the reason i tune in to the watch the show every week.

    I’m addicted to PB and cant wait for d next season!! For any1 complaining about how season3 will be predictable, think about it – have d producers not made d show a rollercoaster ride from day 1 wit all d twists & turns? And if ye r really gettin sick of it, then don’t watch but i tink curiosity will get d best of most! I agree about lost tho, they takin d p*ss!!!

    whoever thinks that s03 is going to s**k is mistaken… i think the end of s02 tells how exciting s03 is going to be… a new story.. Heeey! did you see bellick on “sona”?, do you think that a loverboy sucre is going to get her girl? alive? what is going to happen to the man of the game(MY FAV), T Bag?…. wanna know all about these questions and a lot more??? …. There goes S03..
    Just tell me s03 is now available on the north pole and you have to go there to get it… you know what? I WILLLL!

    i think that the third season will be ok as long as they don’t kill michel(seeing as he got them all this far) but if t-bag dies i wouldn’t really care

    Prison break S03 is going to be a whole new serie and they are talking about changing the name of the show…

    As long as the don’t kill (or change change actor) Wentworth miller and Dominic Purrel off then it should be fine…

    If you really like this show why would you want to have it shorter?

    There is still one bit on michaels tatoo that hasnt been revealed yet because if you think about it why wouldnt michael have a back up plan?

    people will you all shut up, am I the only fan here. They are the producers,writers and directors they have obviously analysed the situation before going and investing in a third season. Its an amazing show with millions of viewers who will watch the third season even if it is a flop simply because they have watched the first two.Therefore they will still get their ratings, still earn there millions and the season will air. Come on get real do you really see the viewers(who are the citizens of the USA, europe and the rest of the world) who kept series like DAYS OF OUR LIVES OR BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL going for thousands of episodes despite the fact that they have absolutely no talent,point and a story line that has been repeated so many times you dont know which time round their on when watching reruns. So let me ask you this do you really see prison break being cancelled any time soon ….think about it it wont happen yes they may kill off any decent characters and they will probably be our favorite ones but for now it is the only series of its kind and everyone i’ve spoken to about it is addicted to it. so give the season a dam show a chance.

    Is is possible that pirate versions maybe available, today a client said that she saw it in Malaysia. questionable I know that’s why i ask has it even been filmed??

    prison break is the most interisting tv show i have ever seen ..really i feel that i became one of the actors i really love them all ….specially sara ,michal,sokry, and lincolin…really all the actors and i hope season 3 will be also interisting

    Hey! How can some people be saying they dont want a season 3??!! do you really not want nothing more from prison break now! let there be another season it will be great and really interesting..support it if your a real fan! for me its deffiently going to be a show i will always remember. I dont want it to end with just 2 seasons .. yes i want 1 last season 3! maybee they might even bring out a 4..or 5 we dont know! but i just want to say I LOVE PRISON BREAK FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    i absolutely love prison break and i cannot wait to see what FOX will do for this third season. people have no idea what it is about and yet they thing it will suck. if you’re a true fan you would watch the show and stop your complaining. i wont criticize it until i see it. true PB fan. love it

    I kinda understand why a lot of people are upset about a 3rd season, the fact is we all expected a perfect end for a perfect show, but hey guys..IT’S NOT THE END YET! I find the idea of two amazing geniuses (Scofield and Mahone) that are captured in one prison is thrilling. Scofield only by himself amazed us in the first season, now imagine him with Mahone.With T-bag i think those three characters will make a great interesting season.

    Imagine the story ends with Michael getting locked up in Panama, dont watch series 03. whola problem solved.

    You all complaining about series 03, if it were true don’t watch it.
    and call the second series the ending.

    But NO, we all know you will al be watching it, now don’t we !!!

    The problem is not they making more series, its that you keep watching it.

    I for one like em and am looking forward to the new series.
