A super popular action flick The Forbidden Kingdom starring Jet Li and Jackie Chan is finally available in a decent quality after the first cam - PUKKA released their traditional R5 rip from Russian video source. The quality is awesome as usually and I really recommend this martial arts fantasy movie to everyone. Unless you need subtitles, there’s no need to wait for anything better!

In “Forbidden Kingdom,” American teenager Jason (Michael Angarano), who is obsessed with Hong Kong cinema and kungfu classics, finds an antique Chinese staff in a pawn shop: the legendary stick weapon of the Chinese sage and warrior, the Monkey King (Jet Li). With the lost relic in hand, Jason unexpectedly finds himself transported back to ancient China. There, he meets the drunken kungfu master, Lu Yan (Jackie Chan); an enigmatic and skillful Silent Monk (Jet Li); and a vengeance-bent kungfu beauty, Golden Sparrow (Crystal Liu Yi Fei), who lead him on his quest to return the staff to its rightful owner, the Monkey King - imprisoned in stone by the evil Jade Warlord (Collin Chou) for five hundred years.

    @301- the fastest way to download for free is a private torrent tracker. All these people paying for Rapidshare blow my mind, really. I used to use a lot of one click download links, but they would end up getting cut off half the time, so its back to torrents. To those who said this movie isn’t that good obviously aren’t fans of martial arts movies. This movie has some really really good fight scenes in it. Jackie Chan’s old as$ has still got it. It was good to see him really throw down again and not just jump around objects and jump off stuff the whole time. My only complaint is his drunken monk is a direct rip-off from Story in Temple Red Lily.

    Also I agree with the person suggesting a different page for links, this is getting ridiculous. I click here to read the comments. Besides all these rapidshare links are becoming borderline spam. No matter how many links are already shown, people act like they HAVE to post theirs too. MOST of the time its not that bad, but who really wants to scroll past 100+ rapidshare links just to read the comments?     to all the people complaining about the lack of subs or that they are not translated correctlty, how about saying thanks for the effort first!?
    english is most likely not the translators first or even second language and it most likely took them a lot of personal time to translate so show a bit of appreciation people.

    This film was really good, all they needed was to add Tony Jaa to the cast to come in with some flying knees.

    Quality was excellent.

    Eggy subtitles worked perfectly.

    Hardcoded them with AVi Recomp.

    Thanks to everyone for there uploads.

    Use bacon and brie with a bit of lemon drizzle for the ideal bagette to acompany this movie.

    This movie is simply awesome.

    I was kind of expecting to see the usual Jackie Chan “humour fighting”, but they really took it up a notch. And the comedy in between is great.

    if you knew anything about kungfu you would know that “wushu” is NOT kungfu, it is a cross between gymnastics and older kungfu movements with THE COMBAT APPLICATIONS REMOVED!!!
    WUSHU is more like dancing or acrobatics than actual combat or fighting techniques, therefore someone who has won gold medals in Wushu is very, very unlikely to be able to beat someone who has trained in real Kungfu.

    This is a re-encode of the original r5 dvdr…..which was really good quality like all r5’s ;-)

    The dvdr came with a eng 5.1 track so sound was mint but very quiet.

    The original never had hardcoded eng subs for the parts that needed them.

    The subs pack was made by kingben (thanks) …..pukkas seemed to be slightly not by much out of sync….

    so kingben changed the time on all 30 entires to make them in sync

    WORK DONE:

    firstly needed to hardcoded the custom subs to the video ……

    then i brigthened up the video has i think most r5’s are a tad dull and lack a bit of colour……the colour was pretty bang on on this release,but

    was still dull……fixed this by increasing the gamma,lum.

    Also tweaked a few more things here and there…but nothing major.

    The audio was A1 but was quiet so i boosted it up by 400%.

    Left the file has 1 file has i think it’s much better like that for many reasons.

    Anyway enjoy the movie,it’s free!!!!

    This movie was great. and I’m not just talking about the quality of this release (Which is perfect). This has got to be one of the best martial arts movie’s I have seen in a while. and the story was actually believable for a change. you could imagine them fighting like that in a fantasy world.

    I Recommend everyone D/L this. 1. because its free (what have u got too lose). and 2. because its got Jackie Chan and Jet Li in it. it was great to see them fight. highlight of the movie.

    Thanks for this release. It’s a great movie and definately one of the best martial arts movies made for a long time.
    The ’subs’ cannot be translated EXACTLY into English because Mandarin Chinese does not translate EXACTLY into English. I speak both languages enough to understand the Mandarin Parts and the subs I downloaded (from the links on these pages) were both in sync and more than passable.
    You won’t find a “literal” translation of the Mandarin parts of the movie and there are very few of them anyway.
    Thanks again for this excellent release, I’m hardcoding the subs as I type :):):)

    Forgot to add, the movie has MANY, MANY nods to older movies like Shaw Brothers stuff etc. If you are a fan of martial arts movies this will be one of the best you’ve ever seen!!

    The subs don’t start till about 32 mins in and theres not many of them anyway.
    See #308’s post.
    There is a small section at the start where there are 3 or 4 sentences of Mandarin, but you’re not supposed to understand it yet because our ‘hero’ does not understand it yet. You” see what I mean when you watch it :):)
