The Forbidden Kingdom CAM XViD-CAMERA
If you’ve really thought Jet Li is filming no more movies, think again: his latest work The Forbidden Kingdom hit the American cinemas on the weekend and controversial scene group CAMERA released a first cam. You can expect a great deal of martial arts action set in ancient China with Li and Jackie Chan in the main roles. The quality is really bad in this cam, image is dark, blurred and colours are seriously washed out so I recommend waiting for better version, this movie deserves it.
An American teenager who is obsessed with Hong Kong cinema and kung-fu classics makes an extraordinary discovery in a Chinatown pawnshop: the legendary stick weapon of the Chinese sage and warrior, the Monkey King. With the lost relic in hand, the teenager unexpectedly finds himself traveling back to ancient China to join a crew of warriors from martial arts lore on a dangerous quest to free the imprisoned Monkey King.

Is it that bad? Always wanted to see both Chan and Lee on the same movie.
The chinese Monkey King (Soon Ukhong) is a modified avatar of Indian langur hero and die-hard follower of Lord Rama, The HanuMan.
The legend of monkey king and his swashbuckling adventures are really cool to impress any martial arts fan of all ages and cultures!
Seams like a good movie. I’ll wait for a better quality than that !
I will watch this cam, and also at the theatre, and then watch it over and over on DVD. This is all the Kung Fu, special effects, beautiful girl stars and the most famous Chinese folklore all rolled into one but with a Hollywood Budget. Sure, it is not as good as a few Hong Kong made movies but then, it is better then a lot of them too! Thank you Johney666 for that info. Just reminds me China, Tibet, India…shares allot of history. So yes, this movie is campy but also very entertaining. I don’t know what’s so horrible about that!

There has been a torrect knocking around for a week or two tho - anyone looked at that or is it the same CAM quality? Really looking forwar to getting a decent rip of this one.

Jet Li never said he wasn’t filming anymore movies. He said that earless was going to be last Kung-Fu movie & by that he meant it was going to be last martial arts, spritiual movie
Right on TheMan, the women may it be the heroine or villainess are remarkbly gorgeous!
The quality is watchable but the beginning scenes lack english subs, and the audio seems a bit weak.

Jet Li said he won’t be filming any movies where he is potraying a martial artist of the past that really existed. We’re talking about Fearless (Huo Yuan Jia), Once a upon a time in China (Wong Fei Hong) and others. That doesn’t mean he won’t film kung fu or martial art films, only the characters that he is potraying will not be a historical martial arts figure.
Only problem with this movie is that it’s a HOLLYWOOD movie, this movie would’ve been much better if it was a Hong Kong or Mainland China production film, why? at least the story will make some sense, not to be discriminative, but a whiteboy surrounded by so many famous chinese actors, WTF? a pity, maybe next time? but judging from li and chan’s age, they will probably exit the showbiz soon.

Let the truth be told this movie was really bad! The trailer’s fooled me into believing it was a legendary martial arts movie with the two greatest The “Jet”, and Mr. Chan. I was truly disappointed the plot, fight scenes, story line all just atrocious! Please save yourself the time…

I like how everyone says it’s good hasn’t actually seen it yet with the exception of one or two of you. I thought this movie was awful, I was really tired when I watched it (cinema) but I’ve seen other movie while I was tired and thought they were great. I’d say unless you’re into this kind of flick, don’t watch it. Fans of the genre will probably think it’s great.
I’m sorry, but 15 minutes of fighting for a 2 hour kung fu movie isn’t very satisfying.
What are the R5 releases for June? I hope they are Ironman and Indiana Jones 4.

Usually I’m a fan of chinese action movies but this one really disappointed me. The story was pure crap, the english speaking chinese actress’ acting was horrible (it’s obvious she can’t speak english). The fights are pretty long but never get to intense, alot of back and forth moves. Angarano’s action was horrible, if they left out all his scenes this movie might actually be better. Jet Lee was enjoyable to watch as the monkey king but his other character was boring. Jackie Chan’s fight scenes were pretty good but his acting keeps getting worse, he was actually better in Rush Hour then in this movie.

I guess I am part of the odd crowd here. I watched the Chinese versions of the movie and I enjoyed it. I have always wanted to see a movie with the two of them together. I must say though, I didn’t like Jackie’s hairdo.
I will watch it again in English when a good copy comes out.
