Ahhh, they just don’t make ‘em like this anymore. I must have seen this one like a dozen times, and each time it’s pure fun all over again. It has everything, ranging from visual effects that were way ahead of their time (and still rock), an engrossing storyline, memorable one-liners from Bruce Willis and Chris Tucker, zany humor all around, to one extremely appealing Milla Jovovich. The futuristic feel of this film is just brilliant, as there are so many innovative ideas put together here and wonderfully executed. The cast is phenomenal, with Willis, Oldman, Jovovich and Tucker all shining in their roles. I highly recommend “The Fifth Element” to anyone, not just fans of sci-fi.
Synopsis: A visual feast combining ancient mysticism, cyberpunk sensibilities, flamboyant entertainment personalities, and gun-toting alien mercenaries. it was on ok movie, nothing more. the first half started out really good but the last half fell apart and just got silly, chris tucker as the futuristic rapper guy was super annoying. a strange movie to suddenly find here as it’s 11 years old and been out in many rips already..

watching a movie more than twice and still finding it entertaining…wow, that just doesn’t work for me..nonetheless, a very ‘different’ movie when it came out. cool, i’d say a 7.5/10…recommended if you haven’t watched it.

the reason why the 1080p is that small is becouse it doesnt have 1500 bitrate DTS, only 640 kbps 5.1…
it compresses really well to, nothing wrong with rls

@JackStraw et al… you’ll probably be wanting this massive release, with 1080 video, DTS sound in addition (English and Chinese audio)… can’t get any better than this… as long as your screen can really handle 1080p (i.e. you need a computer screen of 1920 x whatever, or a Full-HD TV). The.Fifth.Element.1997.iNTERNAL.DVDRip.XviD-CULTXviD is better in my opinion!! It’s also 2CD but the video bitrate is 1191 kbps !! Don’t know how they did it but it seems to be a better release (audio quality is the same by the way)
int’s are int’s coz there are legit rls out … these are releases like the others .. except they won’t get dupe-nuked

To correct a few people out there about Chris Tucker’s character: he played a futuristic, live radio shock jock/DJ, Rubi Rhod, not a rapper. I can see that as the future of crazy radio personalities with huge egos, and who are increasingly annoying.

Are the HD releases near the start of these comments the first BD disc or the remastered BD version?
I’d heard that the video quality of the first release was crappy and prompted a re-release after people complained.
I gotta say that I agree 110% – 5th Element is one of the greatest sci-fi movies made. It’s a European take on what the future might be like. It’s got everything a guy could want: chicks, humor, guns (check out the German mouser!), ugly aliens, a great villain, space ships and pure evil. I’ll never get tired of this movie!
