VoMiT’s weekend batch of new releases includes some older titles this time: The Entrance is a 2006 low-budget thriller (according to IMDB, I would say it’s a classic horror) with Sarah-Jane Redmond in the main role of detective investigating a drug case, which turns out to be a little more than just that. VoMiT did a standard job on this release and ripped it to 1 CD release with AC3 audio, as the footage is slightly shorter.

A supernatural being wreaks havoc in this low budget horror flick from director Damon Vignale. THE ENTRANCE begins when a young drug dealer seeks out a detective to tell him about a deadly game that he has been forced to compete in. Further investigations uncover a portal into a deadly netherworld, which is inhabited by an unholy entity who is out for blood.

    Anyway, this movie looks really really boring and the poster is misleading as this movie looks more like a low-budget thriller than horror.

    The Entrance is probably on the high-end for Vomit, so:

    Is VOMiT somehow allied with some distribution company who feels that their really crappy movies could only benefit from being “leaked” to the FS/P2P community because it will generate some kind of press, where otherwise there would be none.

    It looks that way doesn’t it?

    Networks do it for TV pilots.certain studios like Dimension release crude workprints to boost awareness for genre films. But I don’t believe any of these no budget companies could afford to do it with their films. If they suck and most of them do the bad P2P publicity(there is such a thing) would eat away too much of their bottom line. A couple thousand downloads doesn’t matter for even a wide released low budget film but for a 40k film made with credit cards in a basement it could mean as much as a quarter of their DVD sales. So it’s doubtful VOMIT has any sort of deal.
