The Engagement 2008 DVDRip XviD-DOCUMENT
There isn’t much to write about in this slow day so I decided to mention even this romantic movie. The Engagement isn’t listed at IMDB but it actually doesn’t look that bad and few people recommended it for a date. Group DOCUMENT did a standard job on this 1 CD release with mp3 audio.
A Jewish-American/African-American couple gives their respective families the shock of their lives when they announce their engagement and preparations begin for the big day. David and Mia are a racially-mixed couple who have found true love in looking beyond the shade of their skin. But just because these two young lovers can overlook their obvious differences doesn’t mean that their respective families will be able to do the same, and when David’s parents throw him a surprise engagement party the cat is finally out of the bag. The divide grows when David’s family demands a traditional Jewish wedding despite the fact that Mia’s parents had their hearts set on a Baptist ceremony. On the day of the wedding the tensions continue to rise, leaving some guests to wonder whether the union will implode before the bride and groom can even exchange vows.

This movie is funny, because typically you don’t find a Jewish family approving of their children marrying black people. The comments and situations the parents present to the kids are hilarious. Definitely a good one to watch if you are looking to laugh.

As an African American Jew I was really looking forward to this movie. I thought it would have a similar storyline to my own life, but it fell way too short. Also the movie looked like it was made with a home camera. The only person that is on anyone’s “list” was Clifton Davis from Amen and even his acting sucked. Redbox owes me a refund!! This movies sucks!!
I’m inquiring since theres no other info out there on google, does this dvd have a sound track? I tried to watch for it in the credits to see the titles of the song but it wasnt the best of quality… anyone out there wanna help me out? There were a few good beats with the violin in there an then the last song during the credits that I’m more interested in. Thanks
