The Departed DVDRip XviD-PUKKA

The best movie of 2006 comes in the best quality. I say “best movie” because all the reviews and the attention that this movie got, my opinion is not the same. The movie contains a great cast and a very good director. The movie is based on the Asian movie “Internal Affairs” from 2002 with Andy Lau. With an 8.4 the movie already climbed in the #77 place of the IMDB’s top 250. Many of you have already seen this, some haven’t and some will watch it again, enjoy!

Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg star in Martin Scorsese’s new crime drama “The Departed.”

“The Departed” is set in South Boston where the Massachusetts State Police Department is waging an all-out war to take down the city’s top organized crime ring. The key is to end the reign of powerful mob boss Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson) from the inside. A young rookie, Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio), who grew up in South Boston, is assigned to infiltrate the mob run by Costello. While Billy is working to gain Costello’s trust, another young cop who came up from the streets of “Southie,” Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon), is quickly rising through the ranks of the state police. Earning a spot in the Special Investigations Unit, Colin is among a handful of elite officers whose mission is to bring Costello down. But what his superiors don’t know is that Colin is working for Costello, keeping the crime boss one step ahead of the police.

Each man becomes deeply consumed by his double life, gathering information about the plans and counter-plans of the operation he has penetrated. But when it becomes clear to both the gangsters and the police that they have a mole in their midst, Billy and Colin find themselves in constant danger of being caught and exposed to the enemy — and each must race to uncover the identity of the other man in time to save himself.

“The Departed,” the gritty crime drama from director Martin Scorsese, takes us into the lives of two cops: Colin Sullivan, smart and unabashedly ambitious, appears to be on the fast track in the Massachusetts State Police Department’s elite Special Investigations Unit, whose prime target is powerful Irish mob boss Frank Costello. Billy Costigan, street-smart and tough, is purported to have a violent temper that costs him his badge and eventually lands him back on the rough streets of South Boston, where he is recruited into Costello’s ranks. But neither man is what he seems and, as they work at cross purposes, they are plunged into a dangerous game of cat and mouse in which the stakes could not be higher.

I liked more the original HK movie Infernal Affairs. There is too much hype about The Departed even if Scorsese made better movies in the past which he wasn´t awarded for.

    Donnie Brasco is the name

  12. January 28th, 2007 | 12:25

I didn’t realize that this movie was so well rated. When I watched it I just thought it was grossly overlong and not that interesting. The “witty” dialogue just seems too scripted to be even remotely realistic. Well, I guess the majority of americans like these kind of movies. I just thought it was Scorsese’s worst movie to date - even worse than Gangs of New York.

Everyone has an opinion and in mine … this was a great film and is worth the download and I have to say Gangs of New York was also a decent film although I found it quite long it was still nicely done. I’m sure there are better films but hey that’s life! Donnie Brasco was also a great film and one of my favs. There seems to be alot of hype over this movie as well as Children of Men but I have to say i’d watch this one again before I ever watch Children of Men. Like I said everyone has an opinion ;) Thanx Mike and the RLSLOG team.

@taz: As for ‘Children of Men’ being nonsense:
In western countries, infertility (both male and female) is on the rise. The causes are various and partially unknown. But it is a fact. Just go ask your physician.

  25. January 28th, 2007 | 16:07

Merci@ taz. Fianlly someone said it. I cant figure out what the biggie is with Children of Men. My mate had downloaded it and was like “awesome dude” and i really found it cheesy?! not even the type that really holds ur attention.

Now i enjoyed about this movie, mind you i watched it a while back and in the cinema and since we were late we had gotten seats right up front (closer to the subs woofers :P!!) was that all the “playas” or heros if i may, in the movie die! and dude, when he gets shot while coming outta the elevator i jerked off the seat and was like “woah wtf i didnt see that coming”. i expected the end of nicholson, yes, but then in the end then bad boy dies so freaking easily and the movie ends right there i was like “huh? what? really?”. Now its been a while since ive seen a hollywood flick which i couldnt completely predict. and thus my high rating!

Plus all in all it had good action, a pretty neat story line, dialogs were neat, the movie was pretty much a slam dunk IMHO.

    January 29th, 2007 | 00:36

The Lives of Others ist absolute pro-stasi (like gestapo in east germany) bullshit. It’s a movie from a german asshole, who interviewed only stasi for his research. He was a rich spoiled brat, who never lided in East Germany.

I lived in this shithole called DDR, and there were no good Stasi at all. Even your neighbour spyed on you - for money! It was no victimized society like the movie states. It was mostly a society of complices. And that Stasi Guy who helped - he would be killed by law for that treason, not supended.

The Lives of Others is pure hollywood crap made in germany for people who have no clue

sorry my bad english, but this crappy and lying movie makes me angry as hell!

After downloading this file, computer had major problems. Nero stalled 1/4 way through many times. Tried “fixing” the avi. Didn’t work. Restarted the computer, did scans, etc. and then my computer started freezing, shutting down, couldn’t open the local disc drive, etc. Removed these files and everything okay now.

WTF? Seriously Mike, you’re losing it. By all objective standards, Little Man was a bad, bad movie.

“i like this kind of movies… watch… and laugh!”

Hey, you like it? Great! That doesn’t make it ‘nice’ or ‘funny’.

“the imdb voters are not from all the kind of people..”

It’s 2007. I’m guessing the haters and the lovers and the nerds and the regular people are pretty much balancing each other out by now. I’d love to know who you think loved the movie.
