The Departed by Martin Scorsese in new telecine

I’m back after the weekend on the countryside and quick look into the list of new releases show me some very nice stuff. One of them is first telecine of new criminal drama “The Departed” with absolutely top class cast including Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson and some others. All of this directed by also famous Martin Scorsese, so I really recommend you to not miss this movie…

Yet another big-production Hollywood remake of a hit Hong Kong film, this time it is ‘Infernal Affairs’ which starred Andy Lau Tak-wah and Tony Leung Chiu-wai. The plot remains the same: a criminal mole in the police department has to uncover the police mole in the criminal organization, and vice-versa. In the HK version, the undercover police/criminal end up with each other’s mobile phones, and the cat-and-mouse game begins. But is either willing to turn on the friends and comrades they’ve made during their long stints undercover?

the best movie I have seen since The Usual Suspects, quality closest thing to a dvd rip, audio perfect, and the movie is absolutely recommended to anyone who appreciates a superb storyline…

Audio is slightly out of sync in parts. I wouldn’t really agree with Kevin that that it is the closest thing to a DVDRip, picture quality isn’t great for a telecine. Saying that though, many of the latest “telecines” have been from non-english DVDs synced with direct audio.

A lot of people (including Kevin!) have been saying this is a good film so I’ll give it a go…

Yeah, it’s kinda hard to watch American crap when the original Ingernal Affairs was so great, but I will give this a look. I hear they are remaking a lot of good Asian films these days.

    I’ll keep it short:

    Movie: Great!
    Video: 7.5/10 (where 10 = perfect DVDRip)
    Audio: 6.5/10 (where 10 = perfect DVDRip)

I did the same thing, sam. I got a release not too long ago, and now this one comes out lol. Maybe I got a different one than what you’re talking about though. If the audio’s a little out of sync in this release, and this release is better, then it must have been worse on the first one, and I’m pretty sure mine is in sync. I also didn’t get it through bit torrent, either.
