I have been wating for this 2-part mini-series “The Day of The Triffids”, which is an adaptation of John Wyndham’s novel of the same name. The basic plot is that Most of the planets population are left blinded following a solar storm. The triffid plant breaks free from captivity and roams the planet killing the population. FoV have released the 1st part just now.

Following a solar storm many of the world’s population are left blind. Millions of man-eating plants escape to roam around the United Kingdom. Bill Masen who is an expert on the plants knows that if he is to save the world he is going to have to turn to his father, who he hates for help.

    Spud, you total tard – The Triffids is a classic novel (you know, those book things you are too stupid to understand).

    There have been a few TV/Movie versions which have all been quite poor but the original book was by an english “syfy” author who is leagues ahead of most others in the genre, no matter what nation they were born in.

    Also, the BBC doesn’t equal the UK.

    Idiot.

    I thought part 1 of this was the single-greatest sci-fi show the bbc have ever done. I find Dr. Who, way too over-acted and cheesy in a “lets cotton-wool pad everything for the kids” kind of way. This was a clever & modern twist on a classic novel (which I read many years ago).

    Only 3 1/2 hours until part 2 airs in the UK
