The Dark Knight PROPER TS XViD-mVs

Here we have The Dark Knight proper TS from MvS- my favorite scene group. This TS is really the best out now. Check this release here and download video sample. This movie is directed by world known director Christopher Nolan. I don’t need to say anything else except that U have to watch this one! If you have a chance watch it in theaters too.

PLOT:
In The Dark Knight, Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker.

STARRING: Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Caine

ALL THE CURRENT RELEASES HAVE THE SAME VIDEO SOURCE!
Only the contrast & saturation have been adjusted in each.

    In ALL current releases:
    1. The picture leans slightly to the left.
    2. Shadows pass in front of the camera during the second half.

I recommend the PreVail release. It has decent dark scenes and great audio.

  21. i!i!i
    July 23rd, 2008 | 23:42

so which is the best release to download?

  22. mfc
    July 23rd, 2008 | 23:47

this is what nrg did with dark knight-ReadNFO Notes: Since there will be 20 diffrent versions of this, went ahead and did one more, lol.
The video is from the spanish cam (which PreVail used) except for the final 5 seconds which is from the
2bros release. The audio is from the Prevail rls except for the final 5 seconds, which is from the MVS rls.
So to start put this in Sony Vegas then split it into about 50 sections (all the diffrent main scenes) and
was tweaked for the lighting in each scene. Basic filters were used: Color corrector, Contrast/Brightness, Levels and a
Secondary Color Corrector. Hopefully this makes it so all scenes look as good as they can look. It was then saved with no audio
as an uncompressed .avi After that the audio was synced in VirtualDubMod. @ pass XVid after that.
Audio sounds great so very little was done with that (except making a few cuts, SoundForge, to sync it up properly)
Overall the movie is dark and the goal was to keep the dark feel of the film but add the color that was lacking.
    :P

    July 23rd, 2008 | 23:54

    IMPORTANT QUESTION:

Do these feature a beginning and end to the movie? I’ve heard they don’t and don’t want to download something with no beginning and no end.

And I’m back to the first one i got. Prevails. Yes there is a little sound distortion in the v. loud scenes, and the colour is A LITTLE washed out…..
But prevails is the clearest crispest one to watch. Smooth and not pixilated like the ones after.

The NRG sample is awful! I’ll stick with the STG for now. The ITL is good too but it’s screen/frame is a bit smaller. Good job all around, but STG gets the prize as far as I’m concerned.

No people have just seen this one The.Dark.Knight.TS.XviD.Dual.Audio-ITL2. From Beginning to the end and it is the one you should go for. It’s the best out until dvdscr, dvdrip or an R5/R3 is out

  40. Peachy
    July 24th, 2008 | 03:47

    So

After all that the first PreVail is still the best?!

The Joker would be proud ;o)

Im DL’ing and ITL sample, if thats not upto scratch I’ll stick with the original.

Why would Rlslog say the MvS one is better than the PreVail one if its not??

Oh, and facking OUTSTANDING film for its genre. And Im speaking from domone who thought Batman Begins was a piece of overhyped sh!te

  41. HDpunk
    July 24th, 2008 | 04:05

ive D/L all the samples & so far ITL & STG are the best ones.
here are some diffrent screenshots for the ITL version
    http://i34.tinypic.com/2reieck.jpg

& some diffrent screenshots for the STG version
    http://i37.tinypic.com/2rer7o8.png
    http://i34.tinypic.com/244cwsy.png

the ITL & the STG versions use the same source video
the differences are that ITL is only 1gb & STg is like 2cd’s,
the STG is cropped slightly more
& the ITL has 2 audio tracks. youll need something like virtualdubmod to fix that…

  42. TrainSpotter
    July 24th, 2008 | 04:28

Okay, I downloaded the Prevail, mVs, and Dual ITL2.0 versions.

Here are frame grabs from each:

Prevail- http://i37.tinypic.com/29vgrpu.jpg Prevail’s Size=656×272 It has one dupe frame every 5, cropped top and bottom…

mVs- http://i34.tinypic.com/avirm9.jpg mVs’s Size=640×272 Encoding looks good, cropped the same as Prevail top and bottom, cropped 16 pixels in width more than Prevail…

Dual ITL2.0- http://i33.tinypic.com/wb5is2.jpg Dual ITL2.0’s Size=608×272 Encoding looks bad; stepping through the 45 second point shows the elevated train goes backwards every 4th frame. Cropped LESS on the top and bottom slightly, but frame width is 48 pixels less than Prevail’s, some audio is missing, but could be fixed using Prevail’s as the source… (All 3 are 272 pixels high.)

The Prevail version still looks better, as the dupe frames are barely noticeable and it’s the most wide-screen version.

The ITL 2.0 is from a spanish source and has english and spanish audio tracks.

  47. TrainSpotter
    July 24th, 2008 | 06:21

Okay, lets compare Prevail, ITL, mVs, STG and NRG:

NRG has an amazing frame size of 720×270 producing the widest A/R of all the TS’s, and the image has been lightened/corrected in places. Unfortunately, every 4th frame is a dupe, and it’s letter-boxed to 720×360.

STG is wide at 664×272, but every 6th frame is a dupe.

Prevail is ‘only’ 640×272, and every 3rd frame is a dupe.

mVs is wider at 656×272 and has no dupe frames.

All of the above releases have a comparable (moderate) amount of vertical cropping.

The Dual ITL2.0 release is only 608×272, but does show more of the image at the top and bottom than the releases above. Unfortunately, it has one EARLIER frame every 4th iteration.

So for motion mVs is best, for color/brightness and A/R NRG wins, STG is quite good with a wide A/R and ‘only’ one dupe in 6, Prevail is quite watchable with a moderate A/R and with somewhat less noticeable dupes than the ITL release, which is encoded badly with reverse motion every 4th frame, but is the only release with more of the top and bottom of the frame included.

So (unless there’s a proper by one of these groups soon), I’m burning the mVs release with my XviD decoder set to lighten about 20%.

  48. mranonymous333
    July 24th, 2008 | 06:38

MVS is the best version. If only STG would’ve used that one instead of prevails dupe frame ridden one we would have an excellent copy.

Yes you can do it in windows media player. Just download the morgan stream switcher (which I think is different with the one used in media player classic). You can then select which audio to play.

To remove the other audio there are many options but vdub and super is the easiest imo. Just stream the video, select which audio to reencode and w8 for the finished product

i’ve checked sample from LTT version wit the ITL version, and seems to me they are the same (quality wise) so people that think the ITT version sounds fabulous, i think the ITL version will do too ;)

Lol, are u kidding? LTT’s video quality is like prevail’s except even more frames are missing. Audio seems to be like the same source too.

I’ll repost what I wrote at #392 for those that missed it:

(Actually, I put the mVs files through TMPGEnc with these filter settings: Color correction: Simple. Settings; Luminance +8, Contrast +90, Gamma +167, and Chroma +26. It took 7 hours to encode, but it looks much better now.)
