The Dark Knight DVDRip XviD-DoNE

The minute I saw DVDR by theCrown being released, I knew that it was going to be DoNE who will get it done (pun very much intended) when it comes to XviD. After all, the same thing happened with The Incredible Hulk. We get this best part of a month ahead of retail date and, of course, it has to be 2CD with AC3 music-to-your-ears audio. I still have that holographic poster from a special screening I went to. Might take it out and hold it while I watch this awesome movie. Bring on the BluRay version I say!

Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker.

Just watch this highly praised and highly imdb overrated movie…
But actually there was nothing new – its just another american superheromovie. Well, the joker actor was doing a great job, also did the makeups from TwoFace.
The rest of the movie including the story tastes like 2 days old beer.

you can find this anywhere by now.

for the person having audio issues, you need to configure your sound for 2.0 sound. the issue is with your setup and not the encode.

I can’t believe there hasn’t been more complaints about the Done or TheCrown releases and their respective audio. Before any haters right, simply download or listen to the mVs dvdscr from a few months back and listen. Yes the voices are super clear, but the background music is almost mute unless its a thundering bass. There actually is sound a the beginning of the movie for the first 30 seconds or so, but its so faint you can barely hear it. Again, using the same setup, same equipment, I can everything clearly from the mVs release. Such a shame too, picture quality is incredible….guess i’ll have to wait. Can’t comment on IAPULA’s…haven’ t seen/heard it.

    Hi testy1
If the Devise verison is the one that is offered in mpeg4 then it too suffers from audio problems. I downloaded it earlier today and played it as well. Its easy enough to tell by just listening to the first 30 seconds of the film before the action starts. On the mVs verison you can hear sound…on all the others its extremely faint. I’d swear they are only using one channel of audio or the balance is off…voices and bass are loud and clear…the movies’ musical score is barely heard on these new releases.

    @Ryan

    Wasn’t mVs MP3 audio?
And if YES – did you set AC3filter (codec) parameters properly for?
If not you will have weak audio in AC3 – especially if your systen set on speakers missmatch number set in AC3filter settings page!

    November 16th, 2008 | 14:28

    Hi testy,
Wish this release would have been nuked over this audio then maybe they would have gone back and done it properly. To answer you question testy, i’m not using codecs. I’m playing and comparing the xvids/dvdrs from mVs and from thecrown/done. The done/crown releases are definately clearer and have less hiss when played on either a computer or the real test on television. But the mVs release win hands done on having the complete sound picture. I even checked both releases last night and its so easy to check. Again play the first 40 seconds of the film..on the new releases its basically silent on the mVs release you hear sound before the beginning of the movie starts. Such a shame.

  45. testy3
    November 16th, 2008 | 18:15

Pity then if it not AC3 speaker/codec setting problem.

The only explanation I have is that PAL sound source (Devise and Done is 25fps PAL)is differently remixed from NTSC screener mVs version.

  46. Ryan
    November 16th, 2008 | 20:43

    Hi again testy,
Hard to comment on it. I’ve had lots of pal discs before and all seemed great to me and have never had this problem before. I know that one time I tried to rip the audio from a mkv file and it came out very similar to the result that Done/Devise have on TDK. I really wish that they or someone else would rerip it…but…if the original pal source is differently mixed then then NTSC verison (not sure why they’d do that) then there’s no point reripping. If you do get a chance, and maybe you already have, play the opening sequences and you’ll see what I mean. On the Done verison the introduction is silent, on the mVs verison there’s an eery sort of clock ticking sound that you can definately hear. I’m guess that since the actual release date is so close, I probably won’t get the ‘full’ version till I buy it. Thanks for taking time to comment!
