The Dandy Warhols - Earth to the Dandy Warhols (2008)

College rock Stalwarts the Dandy Warhols’ newest album, Earth to the Dandy Warhols, is set for a release August 19th.  However, RTB is bringing it to you now.  You might not be familiar with the Warhols, but they’ve had a lot of success in Europe, and their music has been used for several advertisements, movies, and TV Shows, including Little Nicky, Numb3rs, Igby Goes Down, The O.C., Veronica Mars, and Undeclared.  Mixing classic garage rock stylings with pop influences, they have helped define the sound of their contemporaries such as Modest Mouse and Wilco.  So give it a listen.

The Dandy Warhols are a rock band formed in Portland, Oregon by Courtney Taylor-Taylor (vocals, guitar), Zia McCabe (keyboard), Peter Holmström (guitar), and Eric Hedford (drums). When Hedford left in 1998, Taylor-Taylor’s cousin Brent De Boer replaced him as drummer. The band’s name is a play on the name of pop artist Andy Warhol.  The Dandy Warhols are strongly influenced by The Velvet Underground, Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, The Shadows, The Rolling Stones and The Brian Jonestown Massacre as well as including implicit musical references to My Bloody Valentine in some songs. Front man Courtney Taylor-Taylor describes the band beginning as a group of friends who “needed music to drink to.”

    Why do you guy keep posting a torrent link to newtorrents.info when they almost never actually have the torrent? You should just post links to TPB instead since they usually have it first.

    i don’t think anyone on here looks at that on any of the releases posted. thats why in most movie releases theirs about 30 post to a video sample thats clearly posted under the release.

    I know what you’re asking, but the main reason as far as I understand is that RLSlog and NewTorrents are sister sites, and TPB is not affiliated with them in any way other than offering similar resources.

    As annoying as it may seem to users, RLSlog is and always has been a scene release information guide FIRST and links to the files themselves (while offered when available) have always been stated as a BONUS, not a rule.

    If NewTorrents doesn’t have the link yet, then it’s up to one of us to use the comments section to do a little leg work and help out the community by finding an alternate link, at least until NewTorrents does get the link.

    For instance, my comment up above has TBB link for this file, so no harm no foul. Just click there and you don’t even have to take 2 minutes to search for it yourself.

    Hope this helps answer your question, my apologies to the moderators if I overstep or misstate anything by speaking on behalf of the site.
