The Curious Case of Benjamin Button DVDSCR xViD-xSCR

Well first of all there was a non scene release of this movie in MOV format (not XViD) and then DEViSE took over with a nice two CD XViD rip. Now scene group xSCR release another copy of this movie. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button had gotten extremely high ratings with some of the best actors. So you wouldn’t want to miss out on this one. File size is larger so may have the few  seconds of the missing footage. There is also occasional footer messages.

Update: The.Curious.Case.of.Benjamin.Button.DVDSCR.READNFO.DVDR-xSCR (NFO)

“I was born under unusual circumstances.” And so begins ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,’ adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards: a man, like any of us, who is unable to stop time. We follow his story, set in New Orleans from the end of World War I in 1918 to the 21st century, following his journey that is as unusual as any man’s life can be. Directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett with Taraji P. Henson, Tilda Swinton, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas and Julia Ormond, Benjamin Button is a grand tale of a not-so-ordinary man and the people and places he discovers along the way, the loves he finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.

This has the same issues as the Devise one, presumably from the same source. At 36:22 there's a jump and again a few seconds later, so there is definitely some footage missing, if only a few seconds. I guess this will be nuked.

have to laugh really-remember the staff here said when endless posts asked why they didnt post the benjamin button screener that they wouldnt post it until a complete one without the small scene jump was released?

and yet, here we are, more than 2 days after EVERY other site posted it and rlslog come along to save the day with…the exact same copy, exact same small scene jump,in fact actually the exact same release as devise, stolen, retagged by some lame scene group.

way to go-of course Im sure moderator "dot" who swore no incomplete ben button would get posted here will have another lame excuse for this.

dont get me wrong-this is fine for a 3 hour film-perfectly watchable with a miniscule scene jump in a 3 hour film but it is IDENTICAL to devises release.

Who the hell cares of a few seconds missing. If u want to see those few seconds why dont u go to the theater and pay some money and see it. I think the quality of this is gr8 v9 a9. Please apperitate the good work these people are trying to do something is better than nothing

    December 30th, 2008 | 14:15

Everyone keeps on saying that if we don't want to watch a copy that features missing scenes or a missing scene, whatever, that we should go see this in theatres – but the reason most of us download it is because it isn't playing near us, DUH.

If someone is going to do something like this, do it properly. Sure its free, but plenty of people manage to rip Oscar screeners without screwing it up, so whats this dudes excuse? Lame.

  37. WutEvr
    December 30th, 2008 | 14:23

The "missing footage" is apparently not just a few seconds and has some crucial moments in the film which I would prefer to see. Will wait for a repack or proper.

    "quote"
that 2 minutes was CRUCIAL. It actually has the old guy explaining THREE instances where he was struck by lightning. These were key comedic moments in the film. This release is terrible.

No i never swore there wouldnt be a incomplete version posted as you say, i said i wouldnt post a release with missing scenes and have i? No.

If its seriously such a big deal to you why keep coming back and complaining? obviously nothing better to do? obviously you knew the other release was out so i dont see the point of coming here and spamming it.

    December 30th, 2008 | 14:25

Guys, these rips aren't from the DVD source.

From the DEViSE homepage, posted by one of the admins:

I would like to ask you to test, before comment. Actualy this one is not from the dvd source. We did our best and if the first encoder made video glitches, how could we fix them? It’s easy to make them, but impossible to fix. Everything else that needed to be fixed, is fixed.

    December 30th, 2008 | 14:27

How does that help us to confirm that this is, or is not the same source that DEVISE used.

  42. December 30th, 2008 | 14:29

we didn't post the p2p releases because there were glitches (normally if its the full version + DVDscr we'd post p2p). Its our duty to inform you with the 'scene release', hence here it is.

  43. ffs!
    December 30th, 2008 | 14:37

let me try to clarify-it is the same source devise used.

the only guy who actually has the oscar screener which came on two discs is a first time encoder and uploader to demonoid-he encoded it to.mov format-we all know the story with that-devise encoded that to xvid but couldnt fix the glitches cos they did not have the ORIGINAL source ok?

this version is just another release of the devise under a "scene" name but again has the same glitch because they are using the same uploaded source.

in order to fix the glitch a scene group needs the original 2 discs which were ripped to create the first mov file.

    December 30th, 2008 | 14:45

Thanks to those who've reported on this one (ffs!, xxx, brookstein).
Quick test on all future releases: Whoever downloads first, please scan to 36:23 through 36:35 and see if there's any dropped scenes (indicated by abrupt, glitchy edits). If you do, report back: That means it's the same version we've all already seen.

    December 30th, 2008 | 15:00

DVDScreeners are usually watermarked with a unique identity so if it gets released they can trace who it came from. Perhaps there is missing scenes from these screeners because those scenes have watermarks.

first off the amount of time it took to get this movie up here is rediculous, i downloaded the first one up, that only played with vlc and half way through you had to change audio track from 1 to 2, and that version was completely acceptable. believe me when i tell you the missing time is no big deal, atleast not to the story of a 3 hour movie. rls log stop keepin people in the dark.

    December 30th, 2008 | 15:51

Why is everyone making it sound like these 3 minutes are the most crucial, pivotal point in the entire movie? I haven’t seen this release, or the movie in the theater, but I find it hard to believe that is really THAT important. I mean come one people.

  66. finster baby
    December 30th, 2008 | 15:58

I guess the point is, why would you want ANYTHING missing. EVERY scene is a movie is important to a degree. To say one or two seconds is missing, is one thing. But 2 minutes in a movie is quite substantial. Alot of dialogue can be exchanged in a movie in 2 mins. go ahead and talk to someone for 2 mins, and tell me that you didnt have alot to say. So to those people who saw it in the theatre and say that those minutes arent crucial, i say, let ME decide that.

Back in the day this site was \'THE\' mutts nuts and I visited countless times every day even if I was aware of most releases from other sources.

    Now its…

Martin==: Posts nothing but irrelevant \'Tech\' info rubbish, sits back and rakes in the cash.

Dot and Vantec==: Post 85% of everything useful here but do it SO badly its just cringe worthy and you often end up knowing less about a movie than you did before you read what ever rubbish they posted.

Will==: Uses Rlslog as a personal blog to pollute the world with his f\'cking godawful taste in music.

    The End.

I think a scene group should fill in the missing scenes with cam or TS footage. Obviously not the best fix, but better than missing a scene or two.
