One of the movie I’ve missed back in 2003 is The Cooler starring William H. Macy. Well rated on the IMDB website I think I’ll once try to download something from a public tracker once the UNDEAD releases are not published on my private tracker. I would like to hear some comments from people who have seen it and let us know something about it.

Bernie Lootz (Macy) is the unluckiest man in Las Vegas… he’s so unlucky, it’s contagious. Looking to knock out their highest rollers, one of the last mob-run casinos in town, the Shangri-La Hotel and Casino downtown, decides to use Bernie as a “cooler” to defuse their lucky streaks. The scheme goes fine until Bernie falls in love with a cocktail waitress, Natalie (Bello), who becomes his “lady luck”, much to the chagrin of the casino’s crooked director (Baldwin) who aims to break up the romance, and Bernie’s newfound luck.

    Great movie. I’d say it’s up there as one of my favorite ‘love story’ movies. I say love story since there is one in here but it’s a part of the bigger story and isn’t a chick flick. Check it out, you might like it. All the women I know hated it though.

    A bit slow, but great movie. See Running Scared, same director, totally different movie.

    I have this on cheap release DVD (bargain bin special) and was very suprised how good this movie was. I’d never picked up on it in 2003.I’d give it 7/10 (not iMdb style).

    Gotta agree with Quadrupe, Macy is someone whose name on the cast list is virtually a guarantee of quality.
