You people whine about your high-def TVs and these FREE rips being not good enough for you. Yeah, some of us do have walmart specials, and we grab these ‘crappy’ releases because we don’t have mommy and daddy buying us high end crap. If you can afford to blow your money on 60 inch TVs, then get off the scene and go buy the damn dvds when they come out, and stop whining about quality on here. If you think the quality is poor, then go release it yourself and do better or shut the hell up. This is like putting a bunch of kids in a small room and having them call each other names for an hour. I appreciate rlslog and what they do, what I dislike is the userbase.

I think I’ll pass. I saw this in the cinema a while back (and loved it) but it deserves to be seen in better quality. VHS Screeners seem to drain the quality. With any luck we may get a DVDScreener soon as I doubt this will appear in R5!
One can only hope.

Changing the AR in VLC will NOT make it look better because it will not bring back the missing picture (that is why people watch WS is because they want to SEE ALL OF THE PICTURE).

In fact, it will make it look worse because taking a Fullscreen video and applying a 16:9 AR everything on the video will look stretched as ****.

@Thejoker – I actually do know what i’m talking about F**kwit. I was pointing out to people you can make it look a little better than having it fullscreen. I am fully aware of how much is cut off when it is produced in a fullscreen viewing. So get YOUR facts straight before commenting.

And for your knowledge, i do quite a bit of configuring of video’s.

Why don’t you learn more about what your talking about?

This Screener is in Fullscreen and there is nothing that can be done to change it. Sure…you could put it in 16:9 in VLC but that changes NOTHING except making the video STRETCH.

The screener is in fullscreen which means about 50% of the picture on the sides of the film has been removed. There is NO WAY to add that loss of picture back to the film (no matter what media player you use).

So telling people to simply change the aspect ratio to 16:9 in VLC is worthless….the aspect ratio is NOT THE POINT. IT IS THE LOSS OF 50% OF THE PICTURE THAT IS THE POINT and changing the aspect ratio in VLC will NOT ADD THAT 50% PICTURE LOSS BACK TO THE FILM!

Oh bloody hell, would people stop complaining about the aspect ratio being fullscreen.
Here’s an idea, – watch it in vlc player and change aspect ratio to 16:9. Simple, done! And it stays in the same aspect ratio for both parts of the film.

Or, if you want to put it to dvd, change the aspect ratio to 16:9 in the authoring process, every dvd converter program does it.

Now stop bloody complaining about the fullscreen aspect!!!
