Anyone in the mood for a violent, funny, innovative crime thriller that doesn’t take itself too seriously? “The Boondock Saints” is my definition of a good time. The conflict between an impressive 7.8 on IMDB by over 51,000 people and just 19% on RT must prove something. Is it that critics are full of themselves to the extent that they can’t accept a movie that doesn’t pretend to be anything more than just that? Maybe it’s just that the average viewer is able to perfectly relate to the idea of this movie? Anyway, I hope you will enjoy it. Quality of the release is very good, and samples are available.
Synopsis: Fraternal twins Conner (Flanery - SUICIDE KINGS) and Murphey (Reedus - GOSSIP) MacMannus are on a mission from God to rid Boston of crime. However, instead of signing up for the police force, these hard-drinking Irish-American brothers take the law into their own hands a la Charles Bronson in DEATH WISH. Heralded as saints by the city’s beleaguered residents, the brothers also attract the attention of Paul Smecker (Dafoe - EXISTENZ), the openly gay FBI special agent assigned to investigate the spate of killings amongst the ranks of the Russian mafia. First-time director Duffy pulls out all the breaks in this inventive, action-packed thriller sure to please fans of HARD BOILED and RESERVOIR DOGS.

This is a really good movie, althought I would say that it is slightly overrated on IMDB and by most viewers in general, however 19% on rotten tomatoes is vastly underrated
this movie is probably about 6.5 out of 10 in my opinion

Agreed, Overnight (the documentary about the director) is much more interesting than this awful overacted and hamfisted movie..

This is a really good movie - full of quirky fun and keeps you watching all the time. Nice to have an original story line.
I heard that the reason it didn’t do as well as it should have was because it was delayed or something because of a school shooting.
Whether it made a lot or not, still one of the best.

Personally I think this is a damn good movie and is easily one of my favorties from the late 90’s! What’s not to love? At the very least this movie makes for one hell of a drinking game lol…
hands down one of the best movie stories ever…. but one of the worst movies ive ever seen. is there a book, because im sure thats got to be better. id give this a 5 out of 10, and defoe sucked in this, his over acting was rediculous. one of the funniest parts of the movie is when he turns on his discman and your like damn, i used to walk around with something that big.
