    Oh man, I think most people want the 175 mb first, it’s much faster, can’t wait for the episode! and besides it takes a real long time to download a 720p vid, I mean it’s almost the same size as a movie…

    hey dave mate, i’d love to download 720p but some countries put on stupid caps on their internet plans. im currently on a 4 gig plan downloading the 720p would limit me to 8x21min eps? a month!!

    If the 720p version were .avi’s, I’d have no problem downloading them. ATM, I use a program to stream from rapidshare, and it can’t play the .mkv files that the 720p copies are. Until then, I prefer the smaller HDTV versions.

    Dave, not everyone is as lucky as you. I as many others, don’t have HDTV in my bedroom, I have a low speed connection and I don’t want to wait 4 hours just to watch a 22 mins. episode, I don’t have a 10 TB HD either or anything similar… Oh yeah, and the quality of the 175mb episode is GOOD ENOUGH, not everybody needs to watch all the wrinkles in the actors’ faces LOL.

    So, can anyone please post some 175mb link please?

    Dave, I have a 1MBit ADSL line also, 600 mb for 22 min episode, it’s just not worth it, I have a 50″ 1080 plasma and i use a ps3 with a hdmi cable to view the show, really man it’s a tv series, not Star Wars or Lord of the rings.

    Well I from the UK, and we have one of the worst internet infrastructure in the western world (I’m sure most Brits know this), where I live 2MBit is the max ADSL speed I can get, my ISP want to charge £28 for that, not worth it, so I’m on 1MBit for £15, no cable around here, and nearly every ISP in the UK have some form of Fair Use Policy, which is like a stealth download/quota limit, they advertise as “unlimited”, but in reality in the T&C smallprints there is this FUP limit.

    I’m just saying if poeple are willing and able i.e. have the hardware and internet connection, and loves the show, then waiting a bit longer to download the 720p/1080p is well worth it. If you’re low on budget & don’t want to upgrade PC & laptop etc to watch HD, the WDTV media player is a nice little alternative, 720p/1080p capable, with MKV MP4 & many other formats supported. (there are also many other media players/streamers going for pretty cheap now)

    it’s just annoying ppl look at the file size & whoa 550mb instead of the 175mb, gets scared away, I want HDTV, HD contents etc to become more mainstream, so more TV shows/movies/sports are shown in HD, more TV channels broadcasts in HD, going mainstream i.e. more & more people watch, download, demand HD material, is the only way consumers can get better deals, or else TV companies, movie studios will treat HD contents as premium contents, and charge an arm & a leg for it, like they’re doing now.

    also helps to force ISPs to improve their internet infrastructures & have better DL limits/speed/packages, if more & more people demands it e.g. need to DL HD materials.

    To all the people whining about download times: get a life.

    Regardless of internet speeds, capping etc – a lot of the complaints are simply about it not being fast enough. The value of patience has died and been replaced with greed. So maybe it takes me an hour to download it. I’ll go and do something else – play a game, read a book, or heaven forbid actually do some work – and forget about it, and in a couple of hours I’ll realise, and guess what? There it is, all complete and ready. Really, the way you people whine, you’d imagine you were suffering physical pain the longer you’re “forced” to wait. Imagine what life would be like if you didn’t pirate it and actually had to wait for the TV schedules to bring it to you, or heaven forbid, actually go out and buy it on DVD? Grow up.

    The only way to ban would be by IP address, and even that is quite ineffective. The name and email fields are largely for show – you can use a made-up or utterly nonexistent email and you’ll still be able to post. You don’t use your real email address, do you?

    Maybe it’s just because I’m in a different timezone – these things come during the working day, and I actually have a real job, so I start the download and then get on with practical stuff, rather than sitting twiddling my thumbs and agonising over whether or not it’ll be finished soon as you lot seem to do.
