ESPiSE with a really interesting looking LIMITED movie based on a true story, called “The Baader Meinhof Complex”. The film is based on the German best selling book with the same name by Stefan Aust and retells the early years of the West German terrorist group the Red Army Faction, which was the most active and prominent terrorist group in post-war West Germany. It was nominated on December 11, 2008 for the Golden Globe in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Germany in the 1970s: Murderous bomb attacks, the threat of terrorism and the fear of the enemy inside are rocking the very foundations of the yet fragile German democracy. The radicalised children of the Nazi generation lead by Andreas Baader, Ulrike Meinhof and Gudrun Ensslin are fighting a violent war against what they perceive as the new face of fascism: American imperialism supported by the German establishment, many of whom have a Nazi past. Their aim is to create a more human society but by employing inhuman means they not only spread terror and bloodshed, they also lose their own humanity. The man who understands them is also their hunter: the head of the German police force Horst Herold. And while he succeeds in his relentless pursuit of the young terrorists, he knows he’s only dealing with the tip of the iceberg.

    Very recommended. Get the 720p version, it's even more breathtaking. Some of the shooting scenes and riots are amazingly well done, it must have cost them millions of D-mark. :p

    What is with these good for nothing dropkicks who don't even check what it they are posting. It's Friday night here and I downloaded this movie joined the two avi's together and convertx'd the result while I cooked dinner. After dinner sat down to watch baader meinhof complex in english to relax after a week's hard yakka and bu…r me dead the damn thing is german language despite posters maintaining it had been dubbed into english. I already got the german language one and wanted english so I didn't have to concentrate too hard.
    Relaxing over a vid screen is apparently standard practice for us workers yet once again rls log denies that opportunity to the time poor because they allow any drongo to post any old BS. I guarantee that these posts claiming this is an english dub will still be up.
    Note to artificially colored and flavored snack food eaters who's lives revolve around this and a couple other sites.
    We the ordinary time poor peeps, that work for a crust don't have enough space in our days to wade line by line thru every post to ensure the veracity of one post in an ocean of wanky putdowns, racist barbs, holier than thou vanity posts and all the other irrelevant garbage that clutters these threads.
    Don't post something as a fact unless you know it to be true ( yeah I know -a wasted plea amongst a sea of ego driven misinformation as immature idiots debate other immature idiots for no purpose other than to 'win' by making stuff up in the hope that will make you appear more knowledgeable than you are).
    If you make a mistake go back and correct it and if you're a site admin – do your job – delete those posts whose sole object appears to be disinformation.

    This is the German language version, sample is in German.

    Tho the NFO is misleading as it lists the language as English.

    As this is an English language site, it would be a real help if the original poster could make details like this clear when they put it up.

    A foul and untrue film that reminds me of the sharp fragrance of my mothers feet after she ha worn the nylon stockings or panty hose for the day while she worked in the bank. Flirting with men, she would compromise herself and I, promising the young men a sniff of her toe for small cash prizes.

    Dirty, dirty , dirty! Her kunt smelled of anothers mans fruit!

    I hate this film because I see my beautiful blond mother. So similar to the womin in the film. I should choke her.
