    You my friend are a fool. Almost all the top box office hits are movies are OWNED by AMERICAN studios!

    Lord of the Rings (New Line Cinema—AMERICAN STUDIO NOT NEWZEALAND!)

    Harry Potter ( TIME WARNER—AMERICAN STUDIO NOT BRITISH!!!)

    Just about all the first 250 best rated movies were produced by american studios.

    Since most Germans idolized Hitler, does that make Hitler a saint? If millions of average Joes click on IMDB are they then right? America hardly make any good movies, they just make money makers… Granted there are good movies from America, but lots of countries make fantastic movies. France,United Kingdom.Russia,Sweden,Korea and Italy to mention some of the best. I am a New York born American, and love movies.. I even work with them, so stfu.

    It’s not because it’s a MEGA BIG MONEY production that is automaticaly good ;) IMDB isnt so accurate also ppl (not all but alot) vote because they like ex: Spiderman ,,, not so much for the film… to be honest having 10 harry potter movies (trust me it will reach this lolll thats the only thing that JK Rowling make money[Harry potter franchise]) is becomming redundant but ppl still vote 10/10 because they like harry…

    also they are plenty of LIMITED movies / movies comming outside of the US which are very good ! :P

    just curious: are you an American-centric mouhahahaa just kidding :)

    @ergo

    You’re wrong. American studios film in Canada only for location purposes only. Face it, america has been the best for making films since the beginning back in our great grandparents time.

    @Blobster

    You probably haven’t seen a good movie yet - I pity you poor soul ;) Muahahaha.

    Truthfully - It’s like the thing with the monkeys… Give a bunch of monkeys a typewriter and enough time and they will type out the collected works of shakespeare at some point…

    Ok ok… I admit there are a lot of good movies coming from USA, but it’s more like buying something in bulk; it’s the quantity that guarantees that some of them will be good. Statistically I would say that if you look at the amount of movies coming out of the USA - they suck at making good movies compared to some other countries. And I do agree with the previous poster that you can’t really use IMDB as a ruler, it’s biased…

    Next point is that even though some movies come out under the flag of an American studio I would call it very nearsighted to call them american. If you have a good script and idea and need funding, the BULK of the studios to go to would be american…

    The other point is that most american’s I’ve met or spoken with - even some british people, find it awkward watching movies that require reading subtitles at the same time. Granted that some other countries butcher movies by dubbing them, but I mean you miss out on a lot of good movies that way.

    Lastly. It’s all opinions that depend on personal reference.
    “Oldboy” is one of the best movies I’ve seen in later years, right up there with “The Perfume - story of…” Neither of which are american. Oh - and I go for Studio Ghibli any day of the week compared to Disney. Then again Disney made a wise choice distributing Ghibli in the west…

    In your defense I will go see the transformers on the big screen and enjoy it even though I know how much it will suck, but I am a 3D animation graphics geek and the FX are simply amazing. Most of the movies I see ARE american, and I do enjoy them!!! But that’s simply because the only competition (looking at quantity) comes from Bollywood and I just can’t take a movie seriously when they break out in singing. Although I’ve enjoyed a bollywood or two as well.

    My 44 cents…

    528×224

    F*CK. What’s wrong with those amateur-rippers? DVD has a width of 720.
    528 is even worse than the axxo-crap with its 576 pixels width.

    the ripper should take a good look at some MOSBRICKA-rips to see what is possible.

    @Blobster, that’s probably why most of the best directors, actors and technicians etc…… in the world, make movies in the US. Because, the Americans can’t do it on their own! You supply the money and we supply the talent!

    This seems like a nice movie, I might give it a try.
    I don’t see how it matters where it was produced, must be a canadian/american feud or something, lol.

    You do realize that ReGenesis is Canadian? And that Elisha Cuthbert is 100% Canadian? And that demonoid is hosted in Canada now?

    You US patriot type a-holes should get a clue. There are only about 50 million people in the US that are OK or reasonably OK, and that’s because they’re NON-religious, and quite often those are of foreign descent.
    Better yet, the entire US of A came about because some Europeans moved there. Check your heritage, if you think being American is different from being European. You’ll be in for a surprise!
