    stephen hawking’s voice simulator is a hardware machine. So far the best software simulation of his exact replicated voice is WillowTalk, an abandonware software I don’t know where to get. I have always been interested in text-to-speech. I’ve tried talkbox, the microsoft ’sam’ , appletext (which had a very good voice with pitch and speed) I’ve tried the new mac text editor which has all these horrible voices like bad news, agne, bells and they all are poor. you can listen to his voice at http://www.mchawking.com/

    TextAloud is the best solution for text to speech, there is support to RealSpeak. The voices are natural.

    @chrissy
    because you see it in a magazine, on a commercial, somebody driving it around? apples and oranges. that doesn’t make any sense.

    i obviously overlooked the rapidshare link, but there’s not always one, so how then?

    @Endling

    Topsite is a term used by the warez scene to refer to high-speed FTP servers used by release groups and couriers for distribution, storage and archiving of warez releases. Topsites have very high-bandwidth Internet connections, commonly supporting transfer speeds of hundreds to thousands of megabits per second; enough to transfer a full DVD in minutes. Topsites also have very high storage capacity; a total of many terabytes is typical.

    Unlike their predecessors in the Bulletin board system (BBS) scene, topsites aren’t advertised broadly. With the increased threat of police raids, topsites have been forced to employ elaborate security precautions in order to stay hidden from authorities.

    A typical topsite configuration will only allow users to login from a certain ident and host (or IP range for users with dynamic IP’s), with SSL encapsulation on all FTP sessions. FTP bouncers are commonly used to hide the topsite’s real IP address, and to share network load.

    Activity on the FTP server is announced by a Sitebot in a private IRC channel. Users need to issue an invite command to the FTP server in order to join a site channel. Sitebots typically run Eggdrop IRC bot software.

    do some searches at http://www.isohunt.com for “Neospeech” and “AT&T Natural Voice”, you’ll find some torrents containing the speech add-ons for TextAloud in UK, US and other accents. Once you have torrent details you can then search rapidshare if you can’t wait for the download :)
