    I was a huge skeptic before tonight but… this is not a bad show at all. Honestly I thought this blew T3 out of the water as far as storyline. T3 had continuity problems trying to be a present-day (12 years later) sequel to T2. TTSCC IMO is far more believable as a sequel and I loved the attention to detail (Did you notice Sarah’s jeep just like in T2, the fact that they re-introduced Miles’ family, etc).

    One quick question–how many more episodes until they hit a dead-end with the strike?

    It’s a good show, well at least better than T3, but it probably won’t last long. I mean, robots fighting robots is all fun and good, but how long can it last while maintaining a quality storyline?

    They have 8 weeks (I think there’s 8 eps filmed) to build a solid base and then after that they might be screwed. Once the strike ends and all the quality shows people have been missing out on start coming back, new shows, like this one, won’t stand a chance most likely. That being said, I don’t watch much TV so that’s not a problem for me, I watch some cable shows, and 2 or 3 network ones, so I’ll stick with this one for a while. As long as Summer is a main stay.

    just watched it a couple hrs ago. it was too ‘tv’ and not cinematic enough given that this is the terminator franchise and all. acting wasn’t great. plot was what you’d expect. i’ll give it one more chance but if things don’t start gelling, i won’t watch it after the 2nd ep. this could easily become cancelled in no time based on the 1st ep performance. ratings might be high the first time out but critiques will start flooding the net and people may stop watching cuz of the directing and acting. i’m disappointed cuz the idea has potential. execution is what may kill this show.

    @15 battlestar galactica also has “robot on robot action”… but it showed us how different that idea can be. I’ll give this a chance.

    I watched the Pre-Air, was kinda put off by the Terminators rubbish aiming and slackness. If it was the Arnie Model 101 he woulda delt a swift ending to John Conner at the school.

    Hopefully the new shootout sequence will be better.

    I watched the preair a couple of weeks ago and it wasn’t too bad.

    The only thing I found a bit weird is that the terminators behave much more human than in the movies.

    As if the world needed any more proof that Fox is run by a bunch of drooling morons;

    Exec1: We need to change the pilot, the first scene is a shootout in a school parking lot and we can’t show something like that after recent school shootings like Virginia Tech.

    Exec2: We can change it to a library, but we’ll leave the scene of them going down the hallway, even though it’s clearly a school and not a library.

    Exec1: Perfect. Now what about the scene where the terminator shoots up a classroom and appears to kill a teenage girl?

    Exec2: That one’s fine, we don’t need to change a thing.

    Not that I agree with censoring things just in case they might disturb someone (if everyone did that, we’d never have anything to watch), but to change the first shootout, which takes place outside the school and not change the one that takes place in a classroom, is just beyond stupid.

    As for the show itself; I like it. The terminators showed a little too much emotion and facial expressions, but I can overlook that. I thought the actress playing Sarah did a great job.

    I though this was pretty good..at least better than T3 but then that isnt saying much…
    some parts of the plot are frankly silly but hey its sf….the change in the plot as in the school shooting was just dumb - but hey someone somewhere in charge says so it gets done -
    all people will talk about is the fact is was changed for this showing which will be news and of course show up on the dvd and the UNSEEN pilot..
    unseen of course apart from the thousands of us who understand the internet is for more than just for looking and boobs and googling yourself.

    John and Sarah are ok but a bit dull….John being the cheerleaders mate from Heroes and of course another British actress doing an American accent on a TV show.

    Summer Glau is the reason to watch this which of course is a bit daft when the leads are not as interesting.

    Hopefully this will play for a while and not just be like the The Incredible Hulk each week - where they move on from town to town and Summer suprises the bad guys and helps the owner of the diner stick up for himself over the bent sherrif…or something.

    If this show furthers the Cyberdyne / Matrix story a little then good - with this being made by the company that gave us t3 maybe they learnt something..but then t4 is coming so god help us.

    Any REAL fan of terminator (especially the film classic spectacular T2) will know this is TOTAL GARBAGE… Going from T2 to T3 To this… Whats next a handycam and a black dude playing john..

    What’s the point of Terminator series? The 3rd part of “trilogy” had the only proper ending, athough the whole movie was total crap. There will be a Judgement Day no matter what they do. I’m sick and tired of watching Hollywood milking dry cow.

    I quite enjoyed the first episode, but I can’t see any great longevity in the series, I think its useful in filling in the gap between Terminator 2 and Terminator 3

    Persinally, I thought the pre-air version was better. Besides having the opening scene the way it was originally filmed, there were other minor differences. It just had a better “feel” to it. If you’re at all interested in this show, you should watch both. I’m glad they left the classroom scene in, but I’m still confused why they felt they needed to change the opening scene.

    @69 D-Mac,

    Casting Bale as John Connor was a huge mistake. In fact, having him play any HUMAN character is a big mistake. This guy already has the blank look and mannerisms of a robot when he’s trying to play normal characters. If anything, he’s over-qualified to play a cold, emotionless killing machine.
