Terminator 2 Judgement Day Directors Cut 1991 1080p HDDVD DTS x264-hV

Nice release from hV: Terminator 2: Judgement Day (Directors Cut!) in 1080p. If you want to watch this on your PC you might need to buy a new PC, but if you already have a PC good enough for this I’d really recommend it. If you want to burn it; go ahead, but you need an expensive TV for it ;) Oh well, I think this one is going to be downloaded a lot times anyway…

Sequel to Terminator. Skynet, the 21st century computer waging a losing war on humans sends a second terminator back in time to destroy the leader of the human resistance while he is still a boy. His mother is the only one who knows of the existence of the Terminators, human-like robots that exist only to kill and are nearly indestructible, and Sarah, the boy’s mother is currently in a state mental hospital because of her ‘delusions’. A second protector is sent back to the past by the Human resistance to protect John Connor, their future leader, at all costs.

    This movie looks really good in high definition for a movie made in 1991. This store near where I live is always playing this on their fancy TV’s to show what HD movies should look like.

    1080p at 12GB is overkill… a nice 720p release would suffice!

    make sure you have CoreAVC installed. It takes less CPU than decoders out there for H264.

    Has anyone seen a 15 year old plus movie in 1080 or 720 that wasnt terribly soft and really no better than a good 480 rip?
    I just spent 2 weeks grabbing Predator in 720p and its not even close to the resolution of a modern 480p film encode. Is this just what we can expect from older films with soft and grainy prints?

    Im hoping these are just like the beginning of DVD where we had to put up with non-anamorphic without digital remastering done and hopefully in the future we’ll get decent looking HD transfers.

    I don’t think it is worth the 12 GB bandwith. I just saw the video sample on my HD iMac 24 inch, and it looks grainy and there is still plenty of dust/scratches from the original filmsource. So I think this movie still needs a good clean up for a nice Blu-Ray release

    whats the difference btwn the directors cut and the original?

  47. zak
    March 4th, 2008 | 02:38

    The director’s cut of this film was total crap, and only released because of the DC of Aliens (which itself adds a lot of interesting material, especially at the beginning, but spoils the pace of the original cut).

    Actually, in both these cases, the films as released to the cinema were Cameron’s chosen cut. The later versions were really extended versions, released in the case of T2 for a quick buck, and in the case of Aliens for the curiosity of fans that wanted to see the major sequences that were removed from the original final cut.

    While the so-called DC of T2 attempts to win favour with the alternate ending, it is the terrible scenes of added humour with Arnie that make this extended version so lame. Cameron knew exactly what he was doing when he created the original cinema version.

  48. Re:

    “whats the difference btwn the directors cut and the original?”

    In the original, Schwarzenegger lives to become a state governor 12 years after. Scary stuff.

    Silly question. In every directors cut of every movie, what do they add? New scenes.

    Terminator 2 – Directors : 152 mins

    The human eye usually cannot tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. At normal viewing distances your eye is already completely saturated at 720p

    bandwidth isnt a problem, but my screen can only manage 720p until i get a new one in the summer. 720p is fine though as i watch quite far and it is only 32″, what a movie though!

    @55, grain is good, as it is made on 35mm, you expect grain, it makes it look better IMO. the only setting on FFDSHOW i use is adding grain as it removes the damn macroblocks.

    This is not a “director’s cut”. It’s just an extended edition Cameron did about 13yrs ago just to expand the movie to show some other things. He said himself the theatrical version is his best version and that’s the real director’s cut. Also, this version has NEVER been called a “director’s cut” in any of its retail releases. So this should be scene nuked for being mislabeled. Hell, the scene is so picky about nuking things so they should nuke this over something ridiculous, too!

    Anyone who is mad transformers didn’t win the oscar for best visual effects, watch this movie from over 15 years ago to see why the academy wasn’t impressed.

    @62

    You don’t actually imagine I WROTE the description or even RIPPED the movie do you? LOL! If the specs aren’t to your liking, don’t download it. That’s why I posted them, nitwit!

    March 4th, 2008 | 08:13

    Can an old movie like this ‘actually’ be in 1080p or would it just be upscaled? Like when you had the older movies from VHS transfered to DVD.

    I’ve downloaded 2 months ago an 8GB 1080p version of this! I think 13GB is a little to much!

    March 4th, 2008 | 09:38

    It certany can be 1080p, just watch movies like Back To The Future 1080p (from 1985!)… clean and sharp like it was made in 2007.

    @post32 : “i wonder if i can split the file in three equal “dvds” cause i can’t burn the file into a blu-ray disc…any help?”

    You can use mkvtoolnix : add the mkv file then use the splitting options
    Or virtualdub mod, save as function and split.

    Google it im too wasted to search r8 now :p

    By the way you would have 1DVD9+1DVD5 for this 108Op release, and no need for bluray since it’s a ‘rip’. Then it would just be 3 DVD5..your choice ^^

    March 5th, 2008 | 07:09

    The idiot who says older movies in HD don’t look sharp or clean needs to see The Empire Strikes Back 720p or other quality rips. Or see Star Wars 720p… that looks brand new and it was shot 30yrs ago lol!

  76. sdf sd fdsg
    March 5th, 2008 | 16:08

    The pic quality for a 1080p rip on this is just awful. It’s hardly better than the DVD upscaled… EXTREMELY soft, no detail at all, lots of noise…

    Regardless of which is considered the “director’s cut”, the real question is; Is this really the version with the extra scenes? The reason I ask is that I’ve discovered that most people/groups don’t know their ass from their elbow when it comes to alternate versions of movies. I’ve downloaded three different “unrated” versions of Eurotrip, only to discover that all of them were the normal theatrical version. I downloaded two different “special editions” of The Terminator which were both the theatrical version. I downloaded the “ultimate edition” of Terminator 2 and ended up with the extended version.

    For those wondering about the differences, T2 has three different versions, the theatrical cut, the extended version and the ultimate/extreme edition, which is only accessable as an Easter egg.

    Extended – Has several scenes that were cut from the theatrical version. Most are fairly minor, such as John trying to teach the terminator to smile while at the rest stop (which explains why he tries smiling in the weapons bunker), but there are two scenes that really impact the story;

    1. In the garage when John asks the terminator if he can learn things he hasn’t bee programmed with, he responds “My CPU is a neural net processor, a learning computer, but Skynet presets the switch to read-only when we’re sent out alone” Sarah asks “Doesn’t want you to do too much thinking, huh?” and he replies “No”. John then asks if they can reset the switch. This leads to a scene of them opening up the terminator’s head and removing the chip, which Sarah then wants to destroy because she doesn’t trust “it”. John convinces her that if he’s going to become a leader, she should start listening to him.

    2. Near the end, after being frozen and reforming, the T1000 starts to experience glitches. It grabs a striped railing and its hand changes color. As it walks, its boots change to the metal floor’s tread pattern. When it’s pretending to be Sarah to lure John and the real Sarah comes out behind it, John looks down and sees its feet blending into the floor. This shows that while still functioning, it was damaged by being frozen and shattered. It also helps explain the glitch that travels up its body right after trapping the terminator’s arm in the gear.

    Ultimate/Exteme – Has all the addition scenes of the Extended version, plus two others;

    1. After being tricked on the phone, the T1000 searches John’s room by running its hands over everything and eventually discovers a secret area behind a poster. In there it finds letters to/from Sarah with the address of the mental hospital on them. Cameron was afraid that it made the T1000 look psychic.

    2. There’s an alternate ending showing Sarah as an old woman sitting on a bench, confirming that Judgement Day didn’t happen.

    I have got right back in to the TERMINATOR films after watching The Sarah Connor Chronicles
    So I was looking forward to this 1080p release and download the sample.
    I have to be honest I was hard pressed to tell the deference between the sample and my copy of T2 ultimate edition regular DVD when played on my 1080p HDTV

    Damn I´ve just downloaded this movie and the rar´s give me an error -> “The file “???” header is corrupt” (in rar .09). I did the repair and renamed it to .09, It appeared ok while extracting.. But now just gives me errors from .rar 10! I HATE RAR´s AND ITS SO MUCH SIMPLE DOWNLOAD/SHARE THE FU*** .AVI or .MKV file THAN HAVING 100000000 PACKETS. The download it´s useless now and I waited forever. Not sharing this! :( DIE FAKERS & LEECHERS

    This really blows! I downloaded this and tried to use the ConnvertXtoDVD v3 to convert the mvk files as i was told it would. Oh it did all right…and tossed the flipping sound track 26 frames BEHIND the movie! So I deleted that and tried the mvk to avi program…and it did the same thing!

    I ask yet again…why use a freaking russkie program that very few people will ever use and force others to install crap programs on their computers just to see if they want this movie or not.
