I must admit that I’ve never heard about Tenacious D, may be it’s because I don’t like rock music too much, may be because these American bands don’t get into Europe too much, but it looks this is really popular music group. The Pick of Destiny is the name of new movie starring these tough guys from Tenacious D, so this may be considered as the movie soundtrack in some way…
Tenacious D (sometimes referred to as “The D”) is an American rock band composed of musician/actors Kyle Gass and Jack Black. Their style meshes rock with other musical styles such as folk metal, comedy rock and country rock. They are known for their upbeat classic rock style and vulgar comedy. The band first gained popularity in 1999 when they starred in a self-titled HBO television series, in which Black and Gass tried to establish themselves as “The D” and the “Greatest Band in the World.” The series is occasionally aired on the Comedy Network. The soundtrack, which will double as the band’s second album, includes vocals by Ronnie James Dio and Meat Loaf. Dave Grohl also returns to provide drums on the album, as he did on their first album, Tenacious D (2001).
