TechTool Protogo v1.1.1 Mac OSX-HOTiSO

HOTiSO, well known group who releases Mac stuff, released this app for Mac users of course. It’s for diagnostic / repair purposes, something like Hiren’s BootCD what we have on Win side (or any other bootable diagnostic tool, you name it).

Description: Protogo allows you to quickly create a bootable diagnostic device that contains Micromat’s most powerful tools as well as any of your own utilities you may wish to install. You can then use this device to boot, check, maintain, and repair Macintosh computers as needed.

like every OS, the more you add software, tweak utils and so, the more unstable it gets. And better safe than sorry ^^

    Thanks for the links

Why is this “repair” software needed if Macs are so “perfect” haahahahaha

    REAL men use PC!

    July 11th, 2008 | 19:48

@4: I don’t think Apple or any mac user would ever be so stupid as to claim OSX is perfect. On that note, TechTool is a great product and I highly recommend it for anyone running OSX.

Do yourself a favor and get back on the short bus. This isn’t your stop.

    July 11th, 2008 | 20:18

@ 17 2 b honest with you. I dont think Justin Long cares what he uses as long as it works. And if you tick the boxes (safety, accessibility, usability, functionality) OSX is definitly not on top…. I am pretty sure that Visat scores higher on security and stability… having said that I will stick to my MAEMO Nokia N810 because I really think this whole OS discussion is pointless the OS is so 20th century…. ITS ALL ABOUT THE WEB!

this is freaking awesome ^_^ I’ve downloaded this before but not sure if its safe but anyways I’ll use this one since its likely more safe than the other. BTW Windows still owns for me but what can I do I have a Mac too ^_^

Ahum.. don’t like bursting bubbles; but that’s not exactly close to the truth; almost every OS-review published in the last couple of years rates OSX far more secure than Vista; but come on, even free Linux Distro’s like Ubuntu kick Vista’s ass.

Is anyone else having an issue running TechTool Pro? The data in the NFO refuses to register, and the program will crash out. o_O

    July 12th, 2008 | 01:28

Ok, the NFO has bum info. The 4.5.3 key on serials.ws works like a charm.

Outside of that, excellent release. :D

“macs are designed for newbies who cant handle windows.”

lol yeah. macos - lets me run a unix shell as well as the ugly GUI. Windows, well that gives me a stripped down version of dos (that most windows users wouldn’t even know what to do with).

ANY GUI (windows, the osx ui, gnome etc) is for “newbies who can’t handle a CLI”. The difference is the mac gives you access to a real shell whilst windows keeps you in idiot mode.

For the record I’d never pay the stupid prices for Apple hardware (it looks awful, completely lacking in style and it is waaay overpriced) and have an OSx86 10.5.4 installation on a e6300 based pc. I dual-boot it with Windows XP(and I’m actually posting this from XP).

The idiots coming out with junk such as the above need to get a clue.

    #47 hehe.. good one.
sad thing is, only few of these comment tried to use mac / own a mac , I use both of them. like them both , pc and mac.. though more of a mac user.
Anyway… don’t bad mouth something you don’t know! If you own a mac eg #37 you can say anything you want otherwise.. you are pathetic.
