Here I was, eating my breakfast, when suddenly I saw this pre. I was quite excited when I saw the DOCU tag, because I love a good documentary. I checked the IMDB page and got even more excited when I found out that this documentary has been awarded with an Oscar. After that I checked RT and saw a 100% rating and couldn’t believe my eyes. Judging only from the reviews and ratings of this film, this is a must watch. The topic of this film is the torturing of people the US government sees as a “threat to freedom”. DVDR from EMERALD has now been released as well.
Quality: The general quality of the release looks very good, no problems there. There is however a really annoying watermark at the top of the screen. An attempt to blur it out has been made but it is very visible most of the time. Its most annoying when images are being shown in the documentary. No B/W scenes. Torrent should be on NTi soon.

TV-Rip is probably shorter because it was ripped from a PAL broadcast (25fps) while this DVDSCR is 23.976fps according to your posted specs. Just based on the sample, I’d recommend getting the TV-Rip from REMAX. Not only do you save time by watching it, it looks better than this DVDSCR without that annoying blur.
Taxi.To.The.Dark.Side.WS.PDTV.XviD-REMAX is what you want.
Stuff I learned from watching this documentary. About 90% of the “suspected terrorists” that are captured and tortured are captured and turned over to American soldiers for “interrogation” by the local Iraqi police. The Iraqi police force are given substantial money rewards for turning in “suspected terrorists” so whether they are terrorists or not when they are captured can easily be swayed by any corrupt Iraqi commander who wants or needs money. Which is probably what happened to the poor taxi driver from this documentary.
Most of the information that started this “war” in Iraq was obtained by suspected terrorists who where tortured. As history has already shown there were no WMDs in Iraq so the information was of course false.
This documentary will open up your eyes. Someone in the comments above asked if a member of your family was kidnapped by a terrorist, would you torture them to find where they are? What if you end up torturing the wrong guy? What if you end up torturing an innocent guy who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time? That’s what this documentary asks. It’s a must see regardless of how patriotic you are. This film was made by an American. Watch it.

It may surprise you, but WWII was not just what you see in Call of Duty and Medal of Honour. Thousands of germans died in allied concentration camps, at the hands of Russian, American, French and British troops, either from starvation or torture and illness. There is no black and white in War, and the allies also have a lot to answer.
All you rednecks think a little bit: any man has a certain degree of resistence to torture. Could be five minutes or five years. Also, he could die or get insane in the proccess. If they know something usefull they will avoid at maximum to give away that intel to the torturer, so the first thing they will do after they break is to tell a bunch of crap just to keep their torturer happy and make him stop. You also have to count with the ones (in this case is the majority but that don’t even matter) that are innocent and will spit up fantasies in order to avoid more pain. There are even documented cases of guys who didn’t have any information but started to believe they do, bucause that was the way their mind reacted to avoid more damage to the body…
Ok, so before you have anything usefull from a few, you will have to deal with hundreds of false leads, cross checking them with all of the other info you have, and investigating them individually. When the prisoners start to tell anything good that info will probably be outdated, but even if it’s not, it will have to be deeply investigated, specially because of the false leads the same guys gave before.
So even if its not for humanity or decence, torture camps like Guantanamo are a waste of money, man power and will certainly produce a lot of false intelligence, that could lead to enourmous errors and losses of US soldiers. Like the info about WMDs in Iraq… Everything that Guantanamo camp has done up to now was creating an unnecessary conflict that is basically unsolvable now. If coalition leaves Iraq right now, the country will be transformed in a terrorist nest like Afghanistan never was. In the other side, you don’t have any great victory against Al Qaeda. They work in closed cells, so the info is very compartimented. The proof was the subsequent attacks in Europe were not avoided. Bin Laden continues to be at free… So what are the gains of having a torture camp????

Hilarious, there were no WMD’s found in Iraq after 2003, there was a lot of suspected WMD’s but all were found to test negative for chemical agents. Sarin gas only has a shelf life for 5 years not 100, and in Iraq cases the sarin was found to be impure so its shelf life was usually not more than a couple weeks. The word depleted in depleted uranium doesnt mean that its depleted of radioactivity, its depleted of U-235 to make enriched uranium. The radiation dose of DU is 60% of that which is natural uranium. Quit asking people to prove things for you, do it yourself!
