to any one having issues getting the game to load past the intro videos, download the latest ffdshow codec and should run ok, this is what I did and finally works for me. Iam running on XP SP2, athlon DC 4600+ with 3 GB ram, GF 7900 GS.

can someone help me , i downloaded all the files and it sys to extract then burn, but for some reason i ahave all the files , but nothing to extract, when i look in the place its downloaded to it looks like laods of pages, i haven’t had this prob before but everything i download looks like this except films, i have winrar and poweriso and demon tools, wots going on

You have to rename the files to PRO-TARCH.xxx
example:
flt-tarr.001 to pro-tarch.r02
flt-tarr.002 to pro-tarch.r03
flt-tarr.003 to pro-tarch.r04

till 024

Hey i downloaded the game? i don’t know why i can’t unzip the file. i have winrar.

i’ve try remain all flt-tarr.001t to flt-tarr.001.rar then extract, but doesn’t work.

when i download the file flt-tarr.001-24 is all just file not rar .

please help i really want to try this game

OMFG a sequel to Freespace (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Descent:_FreeSpace). That’s one of my favourite games of all times. After a couple of years after Freespace 2 I gave up hoping for a sequel, but lookie what we have here. I’m gettting this pronto.

As for the rest of you kiddies who can’t appreciate anything that doesn’t require a 8800 GTX, you can go back to your dumnass brainless shooters for dummies.
