“Track Down” aka “Takedown” is a movie that all hackers need to see. It tells the story of computer hacker Kevin Mitnick. I don’t remember ever seen this movie. Maybe some people can delight us and suggest if it’s worth watching both of this movies. The quality of this release is good but the full screen makes it a little bit less. Enjoy!
Skeet Ulrich (SCREAM) stars as notorious real-life computer hacker Kevin Mitnick who finds himself in trouble when his crimes, perpetrated solely for his own amusement, escalate until he is forced to run from the F.B.I. Two years pass, and Mitnick returns home, only to discover a pair of agents (Tom Berenger and Christopher McDonald) on his trail. A trick from a fellow hacker (Russell Wong) allows him to stay one step ahead of his pursuers, but how long will he be able to live underground? The real Mitnick was apprehended in 1995.

This is a excellent movie as is the third movie in this serie.
takedown is not hackers 2… take down is a movie loosely based on the Kevin Mitnick. the two movies have nothing to do with each other.

i dont think that this movie has anything to do with the hackers movie with angelina jolie. This looks alright but the hackers movie with angelina jolie was a pretty good movie for its time, although it over exaggerated the defense and workings of a computer

I must say i really do like this movie. Seen it more than a few times and I must express my warm feeling for this movie.
Also, even if it’s just partly based on the RL story, it does add something to the movie as a whole. Mitnick FTW!

The movie wasn’t that great, but it did a good job at depicting the events. Acting and dialog were horrid, though.

This movie is made by the same people who helped inprison an innocent man(kevin mitnick) for about 8-9 years without a trial…. If one take the time to really get deep into this subject you will realize that this movie is made solely to destroy mitnicks name and make their own name famous while doing it. They try to make mitnick look like a low-life criminal scumbag. Which he isn`t.

This was released years ago from the Iceland or France (i think) version of the DVDs using the English audio, the US released was delayed all this time over some lawsuit. But still a pretty cool movie.

noX hit it on the head, while this movie isn’t really true, it’s definitely a good movie and has some truth to it, and isn’t a click click and 2 seconds later “I hacked the Government” movie.
This movie was very good for what it was, but AWEFUL if you were expecting anything like Hackers. Attempts by the film industry to market this as “Hackers 2″ pissed me the hell off. They also tried to market AntiTrust as “Hackers 3″… lame

Die Hard4 is a bettar hackermovie than this.

Kevin Mitnick was/is a skiddie. Guy never wrote his own tools, and was an idiot about the way he went about doing things. Oh, and this movie sucks.

Try reading the book Takedown….the author spends more time going over what food he ate every frigging day rather than the details of the case. @24 you hit the nail on the head. Kevin Mitnick wrote a book not too long ago…People who are truly interested in this type of stuff should go and read it.

I read the book years before the movie came out and the book is interesting, the movie is worth a watch aswell.
IT IS NOT (Hackers Part 2) Hackers was fun and good for a laugh. Thats all i will say about it.
Takedown is a VERY good book but the book is ONE SIDED and based around Tsutomu Shimomura’s POV.
The movie is more in the middle but based around Mitnick’s POV.
I enjoyed this movie very much as I grew up with both these people as roll models, Skeet Ulrich plays a fantastic roll and I couldn’t go on more about this film.

Takedown is more about kevin mitnick and after he made parole this movie was about to come out. Nobody consulted or asked him about and so Kevin filed a legal action to block this movie based on slander and lies about who he is.

Yes, that is generally the case. It has become much tougher for non-english speaking actors to get high paying roles since the best chance a film has to recoup its costs is playing to an American audience.
If the actors are willing to invest in their careers, they can take english lessons and increase their value, but it rarely happens with foreign actors, and just contributes to their lazy reputations.

This movie is really great and low budget, i’ve seen it years ago on a workprint, this movie have been ban/delays for months/year i don’t know because Kevin Mitnick was in prison and debating to get himself release… the juridiction didn’t want to turn the guy into a modern heroes so they ban the film at least untill he got release or something. Anyway the real guy does not look as charming as the movie tell us he his, but it is quite entertaining ! and it is NOT a sequel of Hacker because it as NOTHING to do with it. (i still got the old workprint version on VCD somewhere… have fun
