Tag and rename is lame, cos when its scene you don't touch the files or names. Otherwise you poison the naming convention system.

SCREW YOU newbs who rename files and tags. Your all damned.

"Tag and rename is lame, cos when its scene you don't touch the files or names."

The scene naming convention of files sucks. Lots of things about scene rules suck in fact. 700MB DVD rips designed to fit on CDs?? What year is this again?

    <artist> – <title> (version).mp3

simple… T&R has made tagging so easy.

for renaming I still prefer MP3Rename (and it's free!)

Crack doesn't work, when you go to get titles from freedb or amazon, it shows the album names but doesn't return any track titles so you can't write any tags to the files (write tags button is always showing disabled).

    @6

    Are you NOT on drugs?
Yeah, what i really want is to have a music library of +9000 musics all named like

    (1)metallica_-_broken,_beat_&_scarred_(_by_moron_that_likes_to_rename_this_all_over_again_released_at_www.blablabla.dumb_)

And i even found some mp3 that had theyr quality, lenght and etc in its own name! Wth you want musics that are completely a mess?

Anyway, as soon as scene releases anything, they dont control anymore what others do with theyr releases, dunno why u upset if others rename the musics to be more decent.

Those seeking the holy grail of mp3 tagging programs can look no further. I've tried all mentioned in these comments and then some and this one has been a joy to use when facing GB after GB of tagging!

    Try musicbrainz.org
Once you get behind the idea and understand the awful complexity of "correct" tagging you don't want to live without musicbrainz.

I still have and love one of the old version of this app and I will not mess with it

I also hate scene rules and I like to have my tags different than the groups on my iPod

    to create tags: FixTunes
    to fix mp3s: mp3Val
    to fix tags: mp3Tag
    to beautify tags/files: mediaMonkey
    to play files: foobar2000

    best combo I've found yet!
