AGAiN guys released newest version of this alternative DAW application under the name - Orion. Judging by my personal experience with Orion, workflow is a lot similar to that one in FL Studio (and interface too, in some way). First, you make some patterns then draw em into sequencer. So, FL Studio users wont have a problems with learning curve. If any.

Description: Orion is a complete virtual studio software, including multitrack audio recording, a mixing desk with sub busses and effect returns, as well as powerful sequencers, generators and effects. All common interfaces, VST, DirectX and ReWire are fully supported.

Using the four-bus Mixer and Master Section, you can build advanced mixes in no-time, and the MultiFX control lets you create complex effect routing.

High resolution post-production is made possible by the enhanced WAV exporter, which supports up to 32-bit / 192 kHz resolution and can render instruments or channels to multiple WAV files.

    Haha, just downloaded this today even tho its been out a few days. hougt id try it out and see if it has improved much. Good program but i just cant leave FL Studio, its too good! lol

    Orion is much lighter than FL Studio or any other sequencer i used. But still prefer FL Studio and Reason.

    IMO, the synthesizers (”generators”) and effects that come with Orion blow the FL Studio synths out of the water (except for Sytrus). Rich (the developer of Orion) is a DSP coding genius. Orion’s workflow is kind of quirky but one can used to it easily and work in it quickly. Even if you don’t use this as your main sequencer/DAW, it’s still worth using through ReWire.

    There are several hundred megabytes of samples and waveforms that don’t come with this distribution but the following should be able to drop into it and work:

    does anyone use reason 3 propellerheads? just got it and seems very confusing, what would u all say is the best. and dont say something is better than reason if you havent used it.

    @Matt, I’ve used both reason 3 and Fl studio. Both are great and have both their own strengths. Reason stands out because of all it’s studio recorded samples. While in FL you really have to play with the generators to get the sound you want. If your project is more of synths, FL is the boss, but if you want a little vintage sound, Reason is a great choice.

    Orion is a great program. It doesn’t matter what you use, it’s how you use it and what your preference is.
    I like Live but it takes forever to load every time because of the vsts.
    With orion it just loads up quickly and I can start writing without anything getting in the way.
    Most of the internal generators and fx are very high quality and every synth has it’s own mixer strip just like a console.

    i hope this one doesnt crash as much as the older one , wich was badly cracked after sometime pattern A1 would get replaced by DEMO written on it, will see

    Missing loads of .sfg files or something like that which makes alot of the drums and synths unavailable to use!

    All you keep getting is the horrible red x error message with that “dong” sound.

    I uninstalled after 15 mins
