Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street DVDRip XviD AC3 iNT-DEViSE

Normally I don’t like to post internal movies as they’re already out and its not necessary, but this I feel is a must. DiAMOND gave us the DVDRip of this movie in 1CD quality with some crappy quality and it would deserve a nice 2CD rip. Group DEViSE strike back with a 2CD release with AC3 5.1 audio and 720×416 audio along with some kick ass bitrate. Groups like DiAMOND race to release the movie onto the scene so quality maybe lowered to release first, but thank to internal groups we get great quality.

With its rivers of blood, this adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim musical isn’t for the faint of heart–or stomach. But thanks to the black humor, impeccable production design, and gorgeous music, Tim Burton fans will want to sing after seeing SWEENEY TODD. For his sixth collaboration with the director, Johnny Depp stars as Benjamin Barker aka Sweeney Todd, a barber falsely imprisoned by Judge Turpin (Alan Rickman). After leaving prison, he comes back to Victorian London to find his wife poisoned and his daughter held captive.

maybe i’m just not that picky but seems like diamond’s release is just fine to me… video and audio quality seem great!

  5. March 15th, 2008 | 05:31

@3 it is up on some private sites and orlydb doesnt have all the scene releases out there… i call internal groups that mainly release movies with the internal/int tag to provide better quality for us :D

    March 15th, 2008 | 05:32

Diamond’s release is probably just fine, it is just a matter of opinion to be honest with you.

But on the other side of the coin; iNTERNAL releases are the key to great scene releases. WiCKEDFRiENDS has been released iNT DVDRs that mainstream scene groups overlook or just do DVDRips of. iNTERNAL releases are needed and loved.

Every site has its own rules on what releases are allowed and technically this hasn’t been “released” as its an internal.

I prefer the quality of DVD or at least near-DVD resolution (Why I prefer internal “releases” to normal).

I just think it’s better than any bad-quality (my opinion) rip… don’t like watching low-res movies on a HDTV.

    good rls

Thank you very much for reposting about this movie RLSLOG! I’ve had the first one that was posted here queued up all day but thankfully it hadn’t started downloading yet. I watch movies on a 52 inch 1080P LCD and have a decent 7.1 audio setup. It really sucks when these rips are full of macro-blocking and other artifacting from being over-compressed in both the video and audio departments. It’s not like the jump in file size is overly gigantic either.

  10. March 15th, 2008 | 05:48

    @9

Id recommend getting the HD rip when it comes out or at least the DVDR as only HD beats that… besides LCDs are not 1080p as you set the resolution on your computer, unless you are referring to a 1080p Plasma TV…

whats funny is ppl downloading dvdrip and xvid encodes and expecting quality, if you want a true dvd get dvdr and hd rips.

I really think that this post was “NECESSARY” because as the poster of the Diamond release said which is Bleez, he expected an AC3 sound on a musical like these. I really want to pick a lower size movie because of my connection speed but I think I would get the release with an AC3 sound for this movie.

  23. bl0m5t3r

    Thanks to DEViSE!

But is the scene allowed to release dvdrips @ resolutsion ’720×416′?

I thought scene rules stated the max. is ’672x(XXX)’

Any comments? Has the scene rules been updated?

  27. Picard
    March 15th, 2008 | 14:24

FiRE, doesn’t INTERNAL mean that it doesn’t have to follow the scene rules. It’s like a “You can’t nuke this” -tag.

  28. pedr0
    March 15th, 2008 | 14:26

iNT means internal, so scene rules don’t apply.

scene rules are completely outdated anyway, xvid should have been replaced by h264 a long time ago….

i’ve just compared all the three releases and sadly, the dvdscreener by PUKKA is still the best quality out there.

DiAMOND has only mp3 sound, though the picture is closest to that of the screener.

This internal by DEViSE has the most pixelation during dark scenes. it looks bad. sound is nice and crisp, though.

i guess the DVD clone is the only choice for a retail release, at the moment.

PFD released a German TS of Horton. Watched the first 2min and the vid quality is pretty good (a little cropped / a little dark).

    March 15th, 2008 | 20:02

@10 Marceli: You’re right of course. I have a PC connected to my television (which is indeed LCD) via a DVI-to-HDMI cable, with a desktop resolution of 720p. I like to surf big screen style, 720p makes text more readable. Of course, this means the TV is upsampling the 720p signal to 1080p, but with MPC and the Haali renderer (best by far), quality is still quite amazing. Especially with 720p x264 releases, which are the ones I usually go for. If an SD XviD video is done right though, it too can look (and sound) very good.

@28 Pedr0: I totally agree and made such a comment to my wife only yesterday. XviD really does need to be replaced by x264.

  38. FiRE
    March 15th, 2008 | 20:43

    Cromwell @ 37

I think the big drawback with using x264 for DVDRip scene is that x264 codec is not compatible with standalone players.

  39. Corie
    March 15th, 2008 | 20:58

I hate when they are two disc. Is there anyway to combine them into one file for one disc?

  40. Cromwell
    March 15th, 2008 | 22:03

@38 FiRE: So the rest of us have to suffer because a few people have DivX/XviD capable players? Worthwhile progress should not be held back this way, especially if the hold-outs make up a minority. Hopefully the players they’ve chosen are firmware updatable so that they can handle x264, or face the inevitability of obsolescence. Personally I would never use a player for downloaded content as they seem more likely to become obsolete when used this way. Sure, HTPC’s eventually face obsolescence too, but certainly not at the same rate. Just look at HD-DVD. It’s cool that a DVD player may have some extra capabilities outside the norm, but those extras are just not as static format-wise as the primary function of said DVD player. It’s because things can change so quickly on the software side of it all, and that isn’t a bad thing IMHO.

  41. FiRE
    March 15th, 2008 | 22:13

    @39 Cromwell,

But thats why we have an x264 scene, and a few groups release 2 Disc x264 rips with *iNT* tags as well.

I personally don’t burn these rips on DVD-Rs, but just watch on computer and possibly store it. There are actually no players that can change there firmware to be compatible with the x264 codec. Yes, it is a an extra perk but its a perk that allot of people are taking advantage of. IMO those not taking advantage of it are the “minority”

What you are saying is also a fallacy ‘slippery slope’, in the end nothing will be compatible so why bother . . .

There are allot of alternatives to the XviD scene listed above. IMO its not “outdated” yet!!

  42. Qwerty
    March 15th, 2008 | 23:12

Let the scene release x264, let us burn them to normal, playable DVD-Rs.

this movie sucks big time.not even sacha baron cohen could lift this one up…the songs are lacking ryhms and reapet words about a 1000times which makes them very hard to stop humming and extremely annoying.it also has an absolutely unnecessary amount of blood and broken necks in it, they show every single person break his neck after sweeney todd drops him to the dungeon/bakery.this is baaad
