Start the celebrations! highly anticipated musical thriller ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’ has made its way here in DVDSCR quality! props to group PUKKA for providing one of the best releases of 2008. Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman and even Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat…) star in this film which is nominated for 3 oscars in this year’s awards, Best Actor (Johnny Depp), Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design. The director is the legendary Tim Burton who’s made some inspiring movies before, many which starred Johnny Depp (”Edward Scissorhands”, “Ed Wood”, “Sleepy Hollow” to name a few). The fact that this flick was rated by over 21,000 members of IMDB and received an average score of 8.3 should give you an idea of how good the movie is. It’s very fresh out of Rotten Tomatoes as well, with a score of 86%. Quality-wise, NFO points to occasional property messages. Check out samples to see the video quality (which is great).

Note: For some reason, PUKKA named this release “Sweeny” instead of “Sweeney”.

Synopsis: With its rivers of blood, this adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim musical isn’t for the faint of heart–or stomach. But thanks to the black humor, impeccable production design, and gorgeous music, Tim Burton fans will want to sing after seeing SWEENEY TODD. For his sixth collaboration with the director, Johnny Depp stars as Benjamin Barker aka Sweeney Todd, a barber falsely imprisoned by Judge Turpin (Alan Rickman). After leaving prison, he comes back to Victorian London to find his wife poisoned and his daughter held captive. As he plots his revenge, Sweeney joins forces with Mrs. Lovett (Helena Bonham Carter), and while he preys on clients asking for a shave, his new partner turns the bodies into baked goods.

    Cloverfield won’t be worth watching on a small screen. The only redeeming quality the movie had was the big explosions and HUGE sound you’ll only get in a theater experience. If you really want to see it, go pay for it. It’s sucks but it’s really the only way to enjoy such a movie.

    Seriously, this is one of the best (and weirdest) movies I’ve seen!!! I watched it once in theatres with some friends, then at my movie theatre worker party (stayed till 5am when the show finished), and during my work breaks I’d walk across the hall into the theatre to see clips of it again!!     Remember the movie Bandoleros that was released a few days ago but had an audio out of sync problem? I decided to fix the audio sync problem myself. I re-encoded the original source, so there’s a slight dip in video quality, but not much.

    Quick instruction for playing subs with movies.

    download vobsub
    place the movie file and the sub file in the same directory, name both the files the same name

    for example if the movie is named sweeneytod.avi name the sub file the same. Then just run the video in any player and the sub should load automatically.

    I just joined up and getting this movie at an average of 720kb!! I cant beleive it! The site says 152 seeders and 48 leechers but its just flying, done in 30 mins!!

The movie was done in about 27 mins, watched it, looks awesome and wish i had of got on that scenemachine a couple of weeks ago.

    For a torrent site, Ive never maxed speeds for a new release unlike this site.

    BUT NO SOUND!!!! WHY?!?!!?!

    It says, “quicktime may need extra components” or some crap.

    post 272 is not true! it’s not possible, since it’s being downloaded onto your computer through a third party out of europe.

    Think about it, a person uploads the file into Rapidshare and rapidshare send him the link that he then repost on the net, etc… How would the movie studio know what the link address is? they can’t, only Rapidshare and the user know the link and it’s contents.

    I think the poster is the same guy that posted #271 pleading with us to not watch the film because he doesn’t like it… whatever!

    oops, i wanted to add, people who dont get sound but get the video or get the sound but no video. use vlc media player, or get klm codecs n try that, they r free to download n they have worked great with any movie i use. quicktime n wmp 11 wont work usually with these.
