Swashbucklers Blue Vs Grey-RELOADED

RELOADED released another new slightly low budget game: RPG Swashbucklers Blue Vs Grey. This game is basically Pirates of Caribbean on your screen in fairy-tale graphics. The size of this release is just 500 MB so you can get it really fast…

Swashbucklers: Blue vs. Grey is a thrilling naval action RPG set in the time of last pirate renaissance on the Caribbean.  Smuggle, trade, fight, choose your side and become the region’s most notorious captain! The Union fleet blockaded the southern ports, severing all the trade connections of the Confederacy.  In return, the Confederate government started giving out the privateer patents, thus building a powerful fleet of commercial raiders…

Abraham Gray, the main character, starts the game as a captain of a privately owned vessel, but soon becomes involved in a tale of blockade-running, military espionage and a very powerful ironclad, built in Liverpool for the Confederacy.  This vessel alone could change the course of the war and bring victory to the Rebel states.  Abraham can join either the Confederacy as a raider or the Union as a spy.

Game features:

  • Thrilling atmosphere of political intrigue and military espionage in the last and greatest era of the Caribbean pirates

  • Open-ended play structure in the North Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexican

  • Blend of exciting high seas battles, fast-paced third-person swordfights and skirmishes

  • Various options for ship upgrades: additional guns, red-hot cannonballs, powder rockets, Gatling guns and other exotic weapons of the 19th century

  • Variety of cold steel weapons, combo moves and firearms to use and master

  • Advanced RPG system allowing numerous options to develop and master the character’s skills

System requirements:

  • N/A (low)

That was not a gamespot review, just some kid ranting about how he likes one of the best games ever made more than this game. The confused little pimple actually seemed to like the game yet rated it as poor. Sigh, ritalin.

Anyways, people are bashed when they make cut and paste games, then when they try for something unique and off the beaten path like “Cowboy Pirates of the Civil War” they are bashed as well for being original.

My summary: You guys are a bunch of haters and can go to hell!

Spent this afternoon playing this game it’s actually pretty good.

If you liked Sid Meier’s Pirates! Then you’ll like this game. It runs flawlessly, great for older systems I would say.

Fun stuff. The art is pretty cool, the characters look good with alot of…umm, character.

The ship models are detailed, you can see the crew scurrying on deck and your sails getting torn up and ship shaking when your steam engine starts to overload. Not as pretty as the old game Pirates of the Caribbean (for the PS2) during the sea battles, but gets the job done.

Great tunes, very “Cowboy Pirate”, even has a seperate folder for the .mp3’s, people will look at you strange for listening to these, but imho they are pretty good ambient music for the game. If people get on your case for listening to the music, just pull out your cutlass and cut them, that will teach them a lesson about cowboy pirate justice.

    yee harr, yarr haw?

Does anyone has problems during game start?
All I get are some vertical strips with background music. I can blindly click with mouse on screen and eventually I will start the game but the dialog boxes are all messed up.

Tried to install DirectX which came with game but it says that I have current version.

I don’t know what to do and I would really like to play this game

I can see the log O_O . However, this game does have bad control, nice gameplay though, remind me of Bushido : Way of the Samurai O_O . But the control is easier than this … This game make me wandering around in town goind in circle … I think the “D” key is dead or something . I rather use the mouse than move around with the keypad ~_~ .

Game gets too boring after 25 minutes. I’ve seen flash games with somewhat similar complexity.
However in reply to other comments:
    - this is not fake
    - this is far far worster than sid meiers pirates
    - Game or crack is damaged so you cant see journal, however 1-st mission can be compleated. Look for arrow symbol on map – especialy world map – you need to return to tavern on havana after 1-st one to get another mission.

Yeah, the game is quite a disappointment. Sid myers’ is way way better and much less annoying to get things happen in the game.

    - i didn’t mind this game at all.

    – game play is similar to Sid Meiers Pirates, but there are some differences; some good, some bad. (three is no wind in this game, compared to Pirates which made game play insanely slow at times; sailing against it)

    – i’m not sure how mnay story lines there are, i’ve almost finished one (could be the only one – but there is 3 faction quest givers .. so they may lead the story depending on choice)

    – controls and weapons take some time getting used to, but once ya get it, game play is alot more fluent. both navel battles and land battles.

    – this game also has a more adult theme to it compared to Pirates. there is subtitle swearing and bloody battles (decapitation(s) ect). there are moments of quirky comedy; a trait called Masochist is portrayed by a guy in a pink bondage suit, whip and all.

    – some posters caliming Sid Meiers Pirates is better ect. this maybe true from a point of view, however its’ a different game in itself. upgrading navel vessels and your character is more detailed and there is variations depending on how you want to play.

    – navel battles change as the vessels get stronger.

    – the only aspect from Pirates i would like in this game, is the ability to raid towns.

    – if i have any hints for this game -

    – sinking boats in the navel battle gives more XP than raiding the vessel, but the trade of is no loot. but once you accumulate enough cash, raiding vessels is usually only for ammunition for your various cannons/guns.

    – when a new navel vessel appears on the waters, try and take one and make it your own ASAP. enables you to take on stronger boats, that in turn can be auctioned for higher prices.

    – once you complete a main quest, you must do a transport quest for one of the local traders for the next main quest to appear.

    – i’ve written too much. if ya like Sid Meiers Pirates, try this .. it is different.
