I'm an American, and I think that 'Man vs. Wild' is somewhat interesting only because of the subject matter, but I think that Bear is ridiculous and the show is just catering to the same idiots that like movies just because they have sensational explosions and neato special effects. Survivorman is a far better show in a lot of different ways, number one being the fact that it's real/genuine. It's much more valuable if you're actually watching it for real survival situations. I don't know much about these guys in their personal lives, but I can say that Survivorman is a far better show if you're wanting to watch reality, not hollywood action in a wilderness environment.
