Ok so here is the second P2P R5 Release of the new Sci-Fi/Action film “Surrogates”. The first version by BinLake had really bad CAM audio and this one is a combination of two P2P groups, FUSiON and DiGiXtC. Quality on this one is pretty great both video and audio, huge improvement on the last release.

Update: Surrogates 2009 R5 LiNE XviD AC3-ViSiON has been released, audio quality is pretty much identical to the FUSiON-DiGiXtC version as according to the NFO they used their audio just changed it from MP3 to AC3. (Torrent | NFO)

People are living their lives remotely from the safety of their own homes via robotic surrogates — sexy, physically perfect mechanical representations of themselves.     R5’s are full DVD releases, correct? I mean with true AC3 sound. Is it possible to take the special effects/background sounds from them and somehow the dialog audio from a line and combine them? I know a line or cam sound is all jumbled up into a mono (or stereo, at best) channel, but surly there’s some way to extract the dialog.

    With great special effects sounds and a bit of filtering on the dialog track, this should give a pretty good sounding movie. At least the special effects would sound awesome.

    I know you scene guys are pretty smart and have resources most of could only dream of. Give it a try…

    Yeah, I’ve always thought that too. I mean, sure, it would take a few days longer to get the release out, but in the end, it would be well worth it. Plus I’m pretty sure the group would get some mad respect :P

    @43, R5’s have stereo unfiltered sound, thus the MP3 format.
    R1 (NA) and R2 (EU) have either AC3 or DTS multichannel filtered audio.

    And yes… if the AC3 has more than 2 channels then the center has the dialogue and main focus sounds while the background sounds are on the outer channels. So it’s possible.

    If it’s DTS, then the main focus sounds are mixed with the background sounds on the outer channels to create the surround impression.

    But if you’ve seen AC3 audio then it’s not the original track from the R5 DVD… like Ugly Truth from DEViCE for example.
