I know this is off topic, but does anyone have information on cracking Windows Vista so you can install SP1 without it coming up as an illegit copy? I just built a new computer yesterday and want to see if it can run vista half decent. Already have Vista Ultimate.
Specs are:
AMD Athlon 5000+ Dual Core running at 2,6 ghz each core
nVidia 8600 gfx card
320 GB Seagate sata2 hdd
2 gb of ram
+ other goodies. Those are the essential. Think it can run Crysis?
is it worth trying or just stay with TuneUp Utilities 2008?

@5- Uhhh…why not ask that on the Vista Thread? Your post is utterly off-topic. INstall the Integrated Feb SP1 Vista Ultimate (x64 since you have a dual core and it’ll be way faster than X86) Use the Vista Loader 2.2.1. It worked for me.
Well, I thought x64 version was only for computer able to utilize the 64 bit architecture? How do I find out if mine is, because as we speak, I’m running 32 bit windows as it shows up as x86 in the computer summary. And yea I’m sorry for being off topic, but you guys here at rlslog are the best.. I mean it.

Seriously i don’t understand why people bother with cracked OS, for £50 you could buy the OEM version of vista. Why people can be bothered with the constant issue of having to keep cracks up to date etc is beyond me! We can get movies, games apps etc via download surely people can buy a bloody OS.

@8 – Marian Hossa – If you’ve just built your machine and you do not know if it is 64bit compatible, don’t go and install Vista 64bit. If you can’t figure out something that basic, you will not have a hope in hell of sorting out the 64bit device drivers you’re going to need.

Yeah, the crack isn’t worki…oh wait…I see the problem here. You have to follow the steps in the NFO. Copy files and apply a registry fix? How are we expected to be able to understand these things?

You can only run x64 bit software on a x64 bit OS. Running XP-32 or Vista-32 is not sufficient. You must be running Vista-64 or XP-64 in order to use native 64bit applications.
1) Marian Hossa is an Uber n00b! Find out what parts do and what they are capable of BEFORE buying them. But I think you are learning. We all learn from mistakes. Congrats on your new system build. I think Crysis would run fine.
2) Topic related… If this does what TuneUp does, then I am staying with TuneUp.
Works like a charm. A good app. to have,I also have Tune Up 2008 . If you know anything about computers you can install no problem.
