Group SKIDROW returns with another new low budget, unprotected game: SunAge is a real-time strategy which looks a bit like Dune in slightly more modern graphic interface - but it’s still far cry from today’s top strategies and it won’t probably entertain you for too long. There’s one positive feature though: small size. 
SunAge is a PC realtime strategy game developed by Vertex4, where the player can experience immersive gameplay with 3 different races, each with their own arsenal of units, buildings and upgrades. The game takes place in a futuristic setting across 2 different worlds, ranging from a lush alien planet to desolate wastelands and through industrial cities.
SunAge is upon us - the solar system is dying. With Earth teetering on the brink of extinction, human Federals and mutant-gene Raak-Zun are battling for control of its dwindling resources. This game isn’t “low budget”, although it might seem like that at first glance because it has no 3D graphics.
This game was created with the intention of creating a strategy game that focuses alot more on gameplay and fun instead of graphics. Most reviews i’ve read were very positive about this game tbh… So no idea where you had to conclude from that this game is a “far cry” from the current top RTS games.
Finally a game that i can play it on my PC!! even that this game should work at my pc i Very Low, no problem at least it’s a game

Oh man i miss the old RTS games, they had the best gameplay and story (red alert 2,starcraft,C&C …. ) the new RTS waste alot of time on 3d camera that ( i think ) most of the RTS gamers play it old style ( top down view ) so why did they do that to us

P.S i was a hardcore RTS gamer but the last few years i changed to FPS, cuz of short story and bad gameplay
and I’m getting this one so it brings me some good memories
After a couple of hours of playing I think I can say it’s a pretty ok game. Parts of it you’ll recongnize from other RTSs (resource gathering, unit types, construction), but there’s also a bit of unique stuff as well. The interface is kinda minimalistic and functional, and the graphics overall are actually great, if you consider that it’s all 2D. You can tell A LOT of time went into things like animation and tiny details on the map (ruined buildings, etc.) It’s not an awesome game, but if you liked StarCraft you might want to give it a shot. I sort of liked it. Some of the voice-acting is a bit cheesy, but at least the game has it, and it’s not all that bad. Also, the story isn’t totally original or fantastic or anything, but it’s interesting enough for an RTS I suppose.
If you like it BUY IT! I would rather buy products to support small developers that actually make GREAT products than rater spend money on big name products that bring nothing new and are generally bad just so that the publishers use it as a cash cow.

I remember, back in the day, when we’d argue C&C/RA vs WC/SC… look at all the nostalgia… the diff games this reminds everyone of and so many people in the comments clearly crave this (or at least what we hope it will be). The reason im saying this is because there are blackhole-sized gaps in the marketing for current games… I encourage people to buy this title en masse… doubt it would be expensive and it would send a nice “you fu*cked up, gamedevs+marketing” to all those companies who spend 10million bucks just to make a tired clone.
and ffs… the mere IDEA of it is better than Halo/Crysis.

try to install the latest directX (9 if u got xp running) and try again. The box with the numbers disappears, but game is still not playable. delete the video settings.txt! Mabye it helps in your case. I think it might be because of the right path. It has to be installed in c:\programs\sungage the standard path of the english XP version.
Just finished the first three missions from the 1st campaign and I must say that this game is promising. Although there are some key features missing (no ability to destroy own buildings, sloppy interface etc), I really like it. The overall appeal is good, plus there are some really unique additions to the gameplay - and that’s what counts.
Problems and solutions:
1) CDKey not working - enter it properly, watch out for numbers (zero is not “O” letter)
2) Crash with “acces violation” - patch the game to v1.05

Well, I wanted to like SunAge. But the game is very, very buggy. It crashed 5 times during my 40 minutes of play, especially saving and loading is very unstable. Units often ignore movement orders. I played with the updated game v1.0.5.
Besides that you can play it in 1280×1024, it’s not nearly as good as Starcraft and a Beta version at best.
When i unzip the file, i get 2 files named
.bin and a .cue What i have 2 do with it , can someone tell me ( iknownoob);)

Don’t save/load your game during narrative sequences and it won’t crash. The new patch is on the way, it should provide more features and fixes (I really miss that one with cancel build/destroy your own building, but that should be fixed as well). The developers forum already contains reports of bugs and what could be added to the game, and the devs seem to get the feedback seriously.
It’s not as good as Starcraft, nor it’ll ever be. But it’s worth giving it a chance, at least because it tries to be different from other blockbuster titles.
Damn, authors are sooo damn modest… Loading screen is like: “Loading pure RTS awesomeness” :>

Is it only me where the game runs like a 9 year old game.. its running deadly fast.. like command and conquer 1 with speed set to max.. this gives an A.I that crush you in 2 minutes with a huge army..
This game sucks..no skirmish option pfft….I like the look though ans smooth play…
