PROCYON is back with another game release. This time it’s Sudden Strike 3. Based on real events of World War II, Sudden Strike 3 lets you play for the American or Japanese armies in the Pacific, and for the Allies or Germans in Europe. Looks like a nice RTS. Just a CloneCD, so better wait for the cracked version!
The third in the RTS series Sudden Strike, featuring a new Sudden Strike Next7 graphics engine for large-scale air and naval battles and large numbers of units. This edition also features new units, fully redone AI and pathfinding, an improved interface, and more complex multiplayer modes across four campaigns — two in the Pacific Islands and two in Europe.

This is more like Blitzkrieg series, with lots of careful management, resupplying of units, no base building etc. In a way it is more like Afrika Corps or even a bit like Codename Panzers, though Panzers is much simpler in micromanagement.
Sudden Strike is thé reference for realistic RTS. It’s a great serie, but you need a lot of patient and be able to accept “lesser” graphics. SS choses interface and a nice overview over graphics, wich is a good choice imho.
Pixel Shader 3.0 required.. are you kidding me? It looks fvcking worse then Half-life 1.
is it me or does the graphic loot very dated? i remember its not long ago Sudden strike used 2D graphics, this doesnt look much better.

Rslog is notorious for posting their stupid comments on all releases. Even in their write-ups. I find it annoying and childish, unfortunately still come here to see the new releases, but I have stop reading the write-ups because I don’t want to know their dam opinion.
It would be nice to see the day of just release news without the 12 year old comments that CONSTANTLY follow from the staff here.

A staffer should be allowed to throw his comments into the comments section.
I actually find that the staff members are a little too generous with their descriptions of most games.
It goes like this.. want a more realistic feel, lesser graphics? Grab this.
Want something that looks sweet and is hella fun, but arcadey? Grab coh.
Or grab both and judge for yourself.
Would also like to point out the IGN and Gamespot links in the OP as well, for those that wanted some (pretty unbiased, I guess) descriptions of the games.

and btw i played 1 and 2 , this game is pure hard core u gota be a strategy pro to master this game in mutliplayer. COH is like comparing Counter strike with Crysis your mama. COH is for kids , its nothing like strategy, just another build n rush game.

it’s easy to make ~500MB iso image with PowerISO or UltraISO (or any other similar program)

Hmm…I was never a fan of the original Sudden Strike. Plus, I really hate these “realistic” RTS war games. I like having a base, turrents, and what not…Tesla Coil pwns!
YARTS Yet Another RTS. Yawn. Game developers can’t think of anything new anymore.
You need to mount clone image in DT pro V-IDE drive and set all emulation to on. Works with 1.1 update
If you don’t want to download 4.41 GB, do this:
Get the first 15 files (.r00 to .r14) and the last (.r93) and the .rar
Use IZArc or other extractor to extract the files to your hard drive (you need to have 5GB free and the extractor must create that file size to work).
When the extractor tells you to indicate the location of .r015, go to the Task Manager and kill the process. This will let the file intact on disk (else it will be erased).
Open the .r93 and extract the .mds file inside.
Mount with DT and extract the content or install.
Done.

Sudden Strike series never had good graphics, but if you are interested in RTS; This is the most realistic (combat, damage, and historical) WWII RTS I have ever played. I’ve been playing since the original.

I used daemon tools to mount the image and worked fine with no errors and don’t forget to keep your original exe file and not the cracked one in game dir.
Any got a no.dvd for the nex 1.2 patch??
Hi, can anyone who has downloaded the eng version(4.4gb) upload me the file called “Locale.lng” i have the 600mb german version just wanted to check if just replacing the file could get me the english menus.

Looks like if the following folders are replaced the version changes to english ( menu items)

For some reson daemon tools dosen’t work on my computer so I can’t use the fixed exe and the russian cracks dosen’t work on the english version. can’t somebody do a crack for this game so I can use it.

The russian 1.2 crack wont work since it uses starforce, the copy protection on the other countries is different. The mini-image is only good for version 1.0 it seems.

@ anyone having trouble with DT: i had to download the latest version 4.11.
when I try to install DT on my computer it always say I have to restart so I do but when the install programm begins again after the restart it ask me to restart again, and there I sit with a never ending loop.
^maybe a compatability issue with your burning software
1.2 update has a DT-protection.

I downloaded the german version around 500 megs then i download ed the demo, installed the german version first then installed the demo took out two folders from the english demo \Media\GUI the folders are mainMenu_1280 and mainMenu replaced the same folder in the german edition changed the SS3.ini change this line Locale=1 and voila you have the english edition
YARTS!? That’s the dumbest thing i’ve ever heard! YAWW2! YAFPS! YARPG! Of course they’re going to make another WW2 RTS.. and another WW2 FPS.. oh.. and guess what.. a futuristic RTS.. and a futuristic FPS.. I have no idea why that offended me so much. Maybe because there was far to many YARTS posts.
