o ya, and the guild can fine the studios or something stupid like that if they get writers that aren’t part of the guild. Otherwise there strike would be meaningless…. not that its making much headway now

I have sympathy for some of the writers, the ones that didn’t get paid AT ALL to do internet mini episodes. I think thats not fair. What I don’t agree with is the fact that their initial demands were met but turned down BY the writers so they could get more. And after the writers go back to work the actors are going to strike.
Now, hopefully we can all agree on this, if the actors strike, thats just stupid AND greedy. You really can’t tell me they don’t make enough.

You are so stupid, compare US to NZ ??? WTF are u thinking ~_~ . It’s like compare what you earn in NZ to ppl in China or some part in Asis ~_~ .

Anybody can go on strike if they have more ppl with them ~_~, more ppl = more chance of winning, simple .

i WAS sympathetic to the writers for the first couple of months, but considering the AVERAGE wage for a writer over a 5 year period is about three times the amount i earn in NZ for being a Paramedic…. (info is from the WGA website). My heart goes out for the non writers that are affected. The ones who won’t benefit at all from this. Camera crews, caterers, dressmmakers for the oscars etc etc etc. *sigh* Ok.. Rant over…

I think they should take all the money they pay to RIAA and w/e and distribute that to the writers and actors.. that way they’ll STOP WHINING ABOUT NOT GETTING ENOUGH PAY, and we’ll stop crying about good people filing bankruptcy because some stupid 4-letter organization sued them.

I hope they start writing Prison Break & Lost as soon as possible. Just a question, Can’t they just use non-WGA writers? give an opportunity for new writers and new ideas instead of using the same things over and over.
