I have not done a game post before, but since this is a really popular game and our usual game editors aren’t here right now so I stepped up to make a quick post. At 12.46GB this will take you a few days to download off of NewTorrent’s public tracker. Stranglehold (or John Woo Presents Stranglehold) is a third-person shooter developed by Midway Games (Chicago studio), for Windows, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. It is Midway’s first game to use Unreal Engine 3, and is being developed in collaboration with John Woo. The game has been in developement at Midway Chicago since 2005 and was released for Xbox 360 on September 5th, 2007, with PC and PlayStation 3 versions due for release on September 25th.

In latter-day Hong Kong, a policeman goes missing. The department is dumbfounded by the disappearance until they receive what appears to be a ransom call from an unnamed source. The kidnapper requests that a single officer appear in Kowloon market. Tequila volunteers for the assignment, beginning a sequence of battles with rival Triads and the Russian Mafia that extends from the street markets of Hong Kong to the museums of Chicago.

    well, The demo worked on my 7900…which blew up on me shortl;y after on a unrelated note.

    I put a 8600 in…and the demo wouldnt work, apparently alot of people had this problem…I really want to download this cause when the demo was working it was fun…mindless, but fun…but i dont know if i want to risk 12 gb download since the demo didnt work…

    I think Mr X got it wrong here.
    Every other site I look at says minimum as

    OS: Windows XP SP2 / Vista
    CPU: Dual Core Processor
    RAM: 2 GB RAM
    Video: Nvidia 7800 or higher / ATI x1300 or higher
    Disk space: 15 GB

    But I believe that is the recommended(or at least I hope so)
    The game looks awesome but fuckin requirements.

    Damn. 12 gig for this game..??

    I own this on my 360, and I can say this game doesn’t deserve a 12 gig placement on your hard drive..

    The game is neat, but gets rather boring, rather quickly..
    The graphics a good, the gameplay, seems kinda late 90’s early 2k… Just feels dated… The look is new and fresh, but the gameplay is stale… Especially for the size of this monster….
    I’ve been wainting on this game for awhile, and maybe I was expecting too much from this..

    Okay game, but not worth the time for this mega download…

    The game is 12GB because it includes the movie “Hard Boiled” with it. Stranglehold is suppose to be the spiritual sqeuel to Hard Boiled. I was thinking about getting it for the 360 but I don’t think it’s not even worth 60 bucks and it’s sure hell ain’t worth 50 bucks for the PC if it requires 15GB of free space for this game.

    As 13 said, this game must include the Hard Boiled film as well. Now, for me personally, this would warrant a download on its own, let alone if it included a reasonable game with it.

    I’ve only played the 360 demo, as my machine, despite not being prehistoric, will probably run this as well as it ran Bioshock (Not very well ;) ) However, I thoroughly enjoyed the 360 demo as a complete throwaway experience.
    The game appeared to be a good laugh and although I’m sure shooting people in the balls in slow motion will become boring after 20 mins, you can’t deny that it will put a smile on your face.

    If you really can’t stand John Woo’s films, then it’s probably not worth a 12 GB download, but keep an eye out for a rip that doesn’t include the film and the download size will probably reduce, at least in half.

    Nice to see Fairlight again as well. Haven’t seen much since my Amiga days ;)

    I just read in a pc magazin the test to the game and they say that the minimum requierments are:
    Athlon 64 3000+/ P4 2,8 GHz
    Gfrorce 7600 GT/ Radeon X1800 GTO

    Now here we have a form of copy protection that I would never try to break. Anything over 4gb just ain’t worth it. Want it that bad, it’s time to buy the damn thing.

    Demo ran great on my system though, I was intrigued and will get it someday. But not at full price. Bout time we had a game like Max Payne again though.

    Not worth a download, too much of a max payne ripoff – and it’s not even a good one :) .

    I don’t think comments like these based on download speeds belongs in the posts. It’s so different for person to person. The difference between slightly less than 1,5 hours and “a few days” is a pretty good example. And no, this is not usenet. Is probably just as possible on torrents.

    hi there installing the game right now , and i looked isos, and it means it fills 2 dvd9, but not right , file structure is kinda
    20 dir of 650 mb each , like cd version game 20 cd,

    there is also another gaming version called “MicroXP” which is supposed to be faster, also made by eXPerience, but I couldn’t get my games to run on it or get an internet connection.

    anyway “TinyXP_Platinum_Edition_2″ is so seriously blistering fast and stable, I ‘ve heard from many people (who have older PCs) that were able to play a lot of the new games on it which didn’t run before under their normal windowsXP!

    but really rlslog has a great layout and all, but they really post so much crap here, I mean that Britney underwear less story and all, c’mon…

    not sure how you all got on but my amd dual core 65×4600 800gts 320meg card with 3gb system ram only loaded the intro what resolution do you need?ill reboot pc later see if that fixes problem but even the intro cutscenes lagged a bit

    I started this download on friday, now finally on sunday it has finished downloading. I read the NFO and it says unrar, the only problem is THERE IS NO FUCKING RAR files here. So how the hell have you guys managed to unpack this shit? Sorry for my language, but in a couple of days I have downloaded many games that hasn’t been able to be unpacked with winrar or winzip for that matter…. And this file, well u know the size of it guys….

    If you have Winrar installed, then simply run it from your start Menu and go to File …. Open Archive.

    Then find the first file in the set you downloaded and select it. (It should be in the DVD1 directory and called flt-hol1.001) Click the open button and the archive will open and allow you to extract the ISO.

    If 12gb is too much for you don’t download it. No one has a gun to your head ;) You can change the g settings, you cant in the demo.

    Its a pretty good game, fun and a bit crazy. It crashes every 30 minutes or so on my set up:

    Q6600 G0
    x1950 Pro
    2GB Ram
    XP

    I’m not sure if its a bad crack or it needs a patch? Its not overheating, its not bad drivers, its a problem with the software.

    The minimum spec for cpu IS dual core and 2gb ram btw.

    i have this problem too, i installed the game, run it, and when i choose normal difficaulty and press it, when the game loading, my pc restarted or Game crashes with blue screen.

    and when i run the autorun of dvd1 it does not show any thing only a blank vindow small in size appears
