Another new 360 game for the day. Stormrise is a postapocalyptic real-time strategy game from the makers of Total War, with the ability to control units in the air, on the surface, and underground. SPARE releases the PAL version of the game.
Stormrise offers fans of the classic RTS genre an immersive and dramatic twist while challenging the conscience of the gamer. Experience the heat of the battlefield by leading your troops from the front line, instead of the traditional way of controlling the units from a detached view point. Stormrise also allows units to be commanded in the air, across rooftops, on the earth’s surface and even underground, this unique idea of “verticality” introduces multiple layers of gameplay that must be mastered for strategic advantage. The experience is heightened by a simple yet effective control system tailored specifically for consoles, which allows easy unit selection, rapid navigation and precise deployment.

Dave – It's region free. Check the ISO with abgx360 though, cos the last SPARE release (Monsters Vs. Aliens) fails the stealth check. Looks like they patched wave 2 video into a wave 3 game on that one.

I wish they would make a game platform where there was a good controller for these types of strategy games. Using a gamepad is an exercise in inefficiency. I'm thinking maybe a system with lots of selectable buttons that you can press in combinations. I mean like 52 or so buttons some that could be used as directionals. And then maybe a free style pointing device that you could use to select units and go quickly where you need to with micro detail and accuracy. I know I'm dreaming but maybe they could make it upgradeable and it could have other functions like watching movies, writing a book or doing taxes.
Oh well, maybe in the future. These games look OK but the control scheme is nads. My 360 is still great for sports games, though. Except for scrolling through stats and adjusting rosters, then I could use that dream system again if they made sports games for it.
